3. Setup
Before using your Xhorse Key Tool Max Pro, ensure the device is fully charged and updated to the latest firmware. The device supports USB charging and can also be charged via the OBD cable when connected to a vehicle.
3.1 Connecting the OBD Module
The Key Tool Max Pro features a built-in OBD module for direct connection to a vehicle's OBD-II port. This allows for easy IMMO programming and other diagnostic functions.
- Locate the OBD-II port in your vehicle (typically under the dashboard on the driver's side).
- Connect the OBD to DB15 cable with light to the OBD port on the Key Tool Max Pro device.
- Plug the other end of the OBD cable into your vehicle's OBD-II port. The integrated LED light on the cable assists in locating the port in low-light conditions.

4. Operating Instructions
The Xhorse Key Tool Max Pro offers a wide range of functions accessible through its intuitive touchscreen interface. Below are detailed instructions for common operations.

4.1 Remote Charge Battery
This function allows you to charge rechargeable keys, such as those found in older BMW EWS series vehicles, directly using the Key Tool Max Pro.
- From the main menu, navigate to Special Function.
- Scroll down and select Remote Charge Battery.
- Insert the rechargeable key into the designated slot on the top of the Key Tool Max Pro device.
- Follow the on-screen prompts and click OK to begin charging. The device will display the charging progress.

4.2 Leakage Current and Voltage Detection
The Key Tool Max Pro can detect battery leakage current and voltage, which is crucial for diagnosing issues with remote keys and vehicle batteries.
4.2.1 Leakage Current Test
- Connect the Leakage Detection Cable to the designated port on the Key Tool Max Pro.
- From the main menu, go to Special Function and select Leakage Detection and Voltage Detection.
- Choose Leakage Detection and click OK.
- Touch the probes of the cable to the appropriate points on the key chip to be tested. The device will display the leakage current value.
4.2.2 Voltage Test
- Ensure the Leakage Detection Cable is connected to the device.
- From the main menu, go to Special Function and select Leakage Detection and Voltage Detection.
- Choose Voltage Detection and click OK.
- Touch the black probe to the negative terminal and the red probe to the positive terminal of the battery (e.g., a coin cell battery or vehicle battery). The device will display the voltage reading.

4.3 IMMO Programming
The Key Tool Max Pro supports immobilizer programming for thousands of car models, including advanced CAN_FD models. This function allows for adding new keys, programming transponders, and other immobilizer-related tasks.
- Supports CAN_FD models such as Cadillac CT4/CT5, Buick GL8, Encore, Chevrolet Cavalier, Trax.
- Free IMMO programming for BMW CAS3+ & lower modules (CAS1, CAS2, CAS3/CAS3+, EWS IMMO systems, ECU ISN, Instrument mileage repair).
