5. Maintenance
5.1. Ink Cartridge Replacement
When ink levels are low, the printer will indicate that cartridges need replacement. Use genuine HP 67 Black and Tri-Color ink cartridges for optimal performance. Compatible cartridges include:
- HP 67 Black Original Ink Cartridge (~120 pages yield) 3YM56AN
- HP 67XL Black High Yield Original Ink Cartridge (~240 pages yield) 3YM57AN
- HP 67 Tri-Color Original Ink Cartridge (~100 pages yield) 3YM55AN
- HP 67XL Tri-Color High-Yield Original Ink Cartridge (~200 pages yield) 3YM58AN
Important Note:
This printer is designed to work exclusively with cartridges containing HP chips or circuitry. Periodic firmware updates may block cartridges using non-HP chips or circuitry.
5.2. Preventing Paper Jams
To minimize paper jams, ensure that paper is loaded correctly in the input tray, not overfilled, and that paper guides are adjusted snugly against the paper stack. Use recommended paper types and avoid using wrinkled or damaged paper.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your printer, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Connectivity Issues: Ensure your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. The dual-band Wi-Fi with self-reset feature should automatically detect and resolve most connectivity problems. If issues persist, restart your router and printer.
- Printing Problems: Check ink levels and ensure cartridges are properly installed. Verify that the correct paper size and type are selected in your print settings.
- Paper Jams: Follow the instructions in the setup guide or HP Smart App to clear any paper jams. Always turn off the printer before attempting to clear a jam.
- HP Smart App Issues: Ensure your app is updated to the latest version. Restart the app or your mobile device if it's not functioning correctly.
