5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the LCD shows low power, replace the CR2032 lithium metal battery as described in Section 3.2. Using fresh, high-quality batteries is recommended for reliable operation.

5.2 Cleaning

To clean the device, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or submerging the device in water, despite its IP67 rating, to prevent damage to the USB port when the external sensor is not connected.

5.3 Storage

Store the data logger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use. Ensure the USB port is covered if the external sensor is not attached.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device displays 'nC' or 'No Connection': This typically indicates an issue with the external sensor connection. Ensure the external probe is securely plugged into the USB port. If the issue persists, try gently adjusting the probe's position or checking for any debris in the port.
  • 'LoBat' or Battery Icon Flashing: This indicates a low battery. Replace the CR2032 battery with a new one. Even new batteries can sometimes be faulty; try another fresh battery if the issue persists.
  • No Data Recorded: Verify that recording was properly initiated by pressing and holding the left button until 'REC' appears. Ensure the battery has sufficient charge. If the device was stopped prematurely or ran out of battery, data might not be saved.
  • Cannot Generate PDF Report: Ensure the data logger is connected to a computer via USB. Wait for the device to process and display 'PDF' on its screen before attempting to access the drive. If the issue continues, try a different USB port or computer.
  • Software Issues (Elitechlog): If you encounter problems with the Elitechlog software, ensure you have downloaded the latest version from the official Elitech website. Refer to the software's help documentation or contact Elitech customer support.
