1. Introduction

The WAYXIN R5 is a high-performance Bluetooth intercom headset designed for motorcycle riders. It enables clear, hands-free communication between two riders, offers music playback, FM radio, and integrates with GPS and other Bluetooth devices. 4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your WAYXIN R5 headset on your helmet.

1. Choose Mounting Location: Select a suitable flat surface on the side of your helmet, typically on the left side, where the unit will not obstruct your vision or movement.
2. Attach Mounting Bracket:
   • For clamp mounting: Loosen the screws on the clamp bracket. Slide the bracket between the helmet shell and the inner padding. Tighten the screws securely using the provided Allen wrench.
   • For adhesive mounting: Clean the chosen area thoroughly. Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad on the bracket and firmly press it onto the helmet surface for at least 30 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure before use.
3. Install the R5 Host Unit: Slide the R5 host unit onto the mounted bracket until it clicks securely into place.
4. Install Speakers:
   • Locate the ear pockets inside your helmet.
   • Attach the speakers to the inside of the helmet using the hook-and-loop fasteners, ensuring they are positioned directly over your ears for optimal sound.
   • Route the speaker wires neatly under the helmet padding to the R5 unit, ensuring they do not interfere with comfort or safety.
5. Install Microphone:
   • For Full-Face Helmets (Hardcore Microphone): Attach the hardcore microphone to the inside of the chin bar, positioning it close to your mouth.
   • For Open-Face/Modular Helmets (Boom Microphone): Attach the boom microphone to the inside of the helmet near your mouth, ensuring the microphone head is positioned approximately 1-2 cm from your lips.
   • Connect the microphone cable to the corresponding port on the R5 unit.
6. Cable Management: Secure all excess cables within the helmet padding to prevent them from dangling or interfering with your ride.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

• Power On: Press and hold the Power button (⏻) for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns on and you hear a voice prompt.
• Power Off: Press and hold the Power button (⏻) for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns off and you hear a voice prompt.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing

To connect your R5 headset to your mobile phone or other Bluetooth devices:

1. Ensure the R5 is powered off.
2. Press and hold the Power button (⏻) for approximately 5-7 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
3. On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for "WAYXIN R5".
4. Select "WAYXIN R5" from the list of available devices to connect. Once connected, the indicator light will flash blue slowly.

5.3 Intercom Function

To initiate intercom communication between two R5 units:

1. Ensure both R5 units are powered on and not connected to any other Bluetooth devices (or in standby mode).
2. On one R5 unit, short press the Intercom button (usually the phone icon or a dedicated intercom button).
3. The units will search for each other and automatically connect. Once connected, you can communicate.
4. To end intercom, short press the Intercom button again.

5.4 Music Playback

• Play/Pause: Short press the Power button (⏻) while music is playing.
• Next Track: Short press the "+" button.
• Previous Track: Short press the "-" button.
• Volume Up: Long press the "+" button.
• Volume Down: Long press the "-" button.

5.5 FM Radio

• Turn On/Off FM Radio: Short press the "FM" button.
• Scan Channels: Long press the "+" or "-" button to automatically scan for the next/previous available station.

5.6 Voice Assistant

• Activate Voice Assistant: Short press the Voice Assistant button (often the phone icon or a dedicated button) to activate your phone's voice assistant (Siri, Google Assistant, etc.).

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures.
• Charging: Use only the provided charging cable. Do not overcharge the battery.
• Water Exposure: While waterproof, avoid prolonged submersion. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when exposed to water.
