3. Setup and Installation

Warning: Installation of this product requires technical knowledge and experience with automotive electrical systems. Incorrect installation can lead to vehicle damage or system malfunction. It is highly recommended that installation be performed by a professional car audio installer.

3.1 Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Ensure the vehicle is a DC12V system.
  • Confirm the vehicle has a 6-wire electric throttle connector.
  • Disconnect the vehicle's battery before starting any wiring.
  • Read the entire wiring diagram carefully before beginning installation.
  • Connect all ground (GND) wires first during wiring connections.

3.2 Wiring Connections

Carefully follow the wiring instructions below. Refer to the provided images for visual guidance.

Main Wire Harness with Programming and Clutch Connectors

Universal Throttle Connector Wiring Diagram

Figure 3.3: Universal Throttle Connector wiring diagram. It is crucial to test your vehicle's throttle connector to ensure compatibility and correct wiring. The diagram illustrates connections for orange/white, red, green, brown/white, and green/white wires.

Detailed Throttle Connector Wiring Method:

  • Red wire: Connect with any of the 5V wire from the throttle connector.
  • Brown/white wire: Connect to the chassis ground (0V).
  • Orange and Orange/white wires: These form a group wire. Connect with the 1st signal wires. Cut the 1st signal wire in half, then connect the accelerator pedal or gas pedal terminal to the orange wire, and the wire harness terminal to the orange/white wire.
  • Green and Green/white wires: These form a group wire. Connect with the 2nd signal wires. Cut the 2nd signal wire in half, then connect the accelerator pedal or gas pedal terminal to the green wire, and the wire harness terminal to the green/white wire.

3.3 Programming

After completing all wire connections, the device requires programming before it can be used. Refer to the specific programming instructions provided in the user manual included in your package for detailed steps. This step is critical for proper system functionality.

4. Operating Instructions

The cruise control system offers various functions controlled via the switch handle and displayed on the digital unit.

Cruise Control Handle Buttons

5. Maintenance

The EASYGUARD ECC001 cruise control system is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance. Keep the display unit clean and free from dust. Avoid exposing the control module and wiring to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures. Do not attempt to open or repair the control module yourself, as this may void any potential warranty and could cause damage.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your EASYGUARD ECC001 system, consider the following:

  • System Not Activating:
    • Ensure all wiring connections are secure and correct, especially power and ground.
    • Verify that the system has been properly programmed after installation.
    • Check for any brake circuit fault detection warnings.
  • Incorrect Speed Readings:
    • Confirm the yellow-white wire is correctly connected to the car speed or gearbox signal wire.
  • System Disengages Unexpectedly:
    • Check brake pedal switch connections (pink and blue wires).
    • Ensure no loose connections in the main wiring harness.
  • "Didn't fit my vehicle" (as per user feedback):
    • Re-verify vehicle compatibility: The system is for DC12V vehicles with a 6-wire electric throttle. If your vehicle does not meet these specific requirements, the system will not be compatible.

For persistent issues, contact customer support or a professional installer.
