3. Setup and Installation

The DEVAISE 3-Drawer Rolling File Cabinet comes fully assembled, with the exception of the casters. Installation is quick and straightforward.

Caster Installation:

1. Carefully unbox the cabinet and place it on its side or back on a soft, protective surface to avoid scratching.
2. Identify the five casters: two lockable casters, two swivel casters, and one anti-tipping caster.
3. Screw the two lockable casters into the front bottom corners of the cabinet.
4. Screw the two swivel casters into the rear bottom corners of the cabinet.
5. Screw the anti-tipping caster into the center bottom of the cabinet, typically located under the bottom drawer. This caster provides stability when the bottom drawer is fully extended.
6. Once all casters are securely attached, carefully return the cabinet to an upright position.

4. Operating Instructions

Drawer Operation:

The drawers are equipped with smooth full-extension slides, allowing for silent and effortless access to contents. Pull drawers out gently until they reach their full extension.

Locking Mechanism:

The cabinet features an interlock system. Insert the key into the lock on the top drawer and turn to secure all three drawers simultaneously. Ensure all drawers are fully closed before locking.

5. Maintenance

6. Troubleshooting

• Cabinet wobbles or tips:

  Ensure all casters are securely tightened. Verify the anti-tipping caster is properly installed and making contact with the floor, especially when the bottom drawer is open.
• Drawers are difficult to open/close:

  Check for obstructions within the drawer or along the slides. Ensure the cabinet is on a level surface. Apply a silicone lubricant to the drawer slides if necessary.

• Lock mechanism not working:

  Ensure all drawers are fully closed before attempting to lock. Do not force the key. Check if any foreign objects are obstructing the lock or interlock mechanism.

• Cabinet moves too easily:

  Engage the locks on the two front casters to prevent unwanted movement. If on a very smooth surface, consider placing a non-slip mat underneath.
