3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your SinoTrack ST-905L GPS Tracker:

3.1 Activate SIM Card

1. Purchase a local 4G (LTE) SIM card. Ensure it supports call, text, and internet functions.
2. Insert the new SIM card into your mobile phone to activate it and remove any PIN code.
3. Once activated and confirmed to have internet connection, remove the SIM card from your phone.
4. Insert the activated SIM card into the tracker.

3.2 Turn On the Tracker

1. Charge the device for approximately 1 hour before first use.
2. The yellow and blue indicator lights will start flashing as the device searches for network and GPS signals.
3. Place the device in an area with good reception (e.g., near a window or outdoors) and wait about 5 minutes for both lights to become constant. If the yellow light continues to flash, move to a different location.
4. When a GPS signal is acquired, the device will obtain a GPS location. Otherwise, it will use LBS (Location Based Service).

3.3 Setting APN (Access Point Name)

The APN settings are crucial for internet connectivity. You will need your SIM card's APN information from your provider.

1. From another phone number, send an SMS command to the tracker's SIM card number.
2. If your SIM card's APN has no username or password: Send 8030000 [APN] (e.g., 8030000 everywhere). The tracker will reply with "SET OK".
3. If your SIM card's APN has a username and password: Send 8030000 [APN] [APN user] [APN pass] (e.g., 8030000 everywhere eesecure secure).

Note: APN settings vary by SIM card provider. Adjust the command according to your specific APN details.

3.4 Setting GPRS Mode

1. Send the SMS command 7100000 to the device.
2. Wait approximately 30 seconds. Both blue and orange lights should remain ON, indicating the device is active and ready for online tracking.
3. Log in to the SinoTrackPro web platform or mobile app. Your username is the tracker's ID number (found on the product label), and the default password is 123456.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Real-Time Tracking

Once set up, you can track your device in real-time:

• Mobile App: Download "SinoTrackPro" from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Log in with your device ID and password.
• Web Platform: Visit sinotrackpro.com and log in.
• SMS: Send specific SMS commands to receive location information via text message.

4.2 Working Modes

The ST-905L offers three working modes to optimize battery life:

• Work Mode (A): The tracker works all the time. Battery life is approximately 2-3 days.
• Move Mode (B): The tracker works only when it is moving. Battery life is approximately 1 week.
• Standby Mode (C): The tracker is in standby and can be activated by SMS or call. Battery life is approximately 2 weeks.

4.3 Voice Monitor Function

The device supports voice monitoring:

• To activate, send SMS command 66 to the tracker's SIM card number from a pre-set control number. The tracker will call back the control number, allowing you to hear sounds around the device.
• Alternatively, if you call the SIM number in the device, it will automatically pick up, enabling voice monitoring.

4.4 History Route Playback

You can view the historical routes of the tracker via the web platform or mobile app. This feature allows you to review past movements and activities of the tracked vehicle.

4.5 Geo-Fence and Alarms

The SinoTrack ST-905L supports various alert functions:

• Geo-Fence: Set up virtual boundaries, and receive alerts when the tracker enters or exits these areas.
• Overspeed Alarm: Get notifications if the tracked vehicle exceeds a pre-set speed limit.
• Shocking Alarm: Receive alerts if the device detects unusual vibrations or impacts.

5. Maintenance

• Device Not Online:
  • Ensure the SIM card is activated and has a sufficient data plan.
  • Verify the APN settings are correct. Send RCONF via SMS to the device to check its current settings.
  • Confirm the IP and Port settings match those provided in the user manual.
  • Check that the device is in GPRS working mode.
  • Move the device to an area with better network signal.
• Inaccurate Location:
  • Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky for optimal GPS signal reception.
  • In indoor or signal-obstructed areas, the device may rely on LBS, which is less accurate than GPS.
• Voice Monitor Not Working:
  • Ensure the control number is correctly set up for SMS commands.
  • Verify the SIM card in the tracker has calling capabilities.
