4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Scanner
Before first use, fully charge the scanner using the provided USB Type-C cable. Connect the cable to the scanner's charging port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
Note:
For battery health, toggle the On and Off switch on the right side of the scanner to power off the device if it is not in use for a long period of time.
4.2 Connection Methods
The Inateck BCST-42 offers three connection options:
- USB Cable (Wired Mode):
Connect the scanner directly to your computer using the included USB cable. This is a plug-and-play connection and requires no additional configuration.
- 2.4Ghz USB Wireless Adapter (Wireless Mode):
The scanner is paired by default with the 2.4Ghz USB adapter. Simply plug the adapter into a USB port on your computer for wireless operation.

- Bluetooth (Wireless Mode):
To connect via Bluetooth to mobile phones, tablets, or computers, manual configuration is required. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.

To enter Bluetooth pairing mode, long press the 'M' button on the scanner until the indicator light flashes blue.

5. Operating the Scanner
5.1 Basic Scanning
Once connected, point the scanner's head at the barcode you wish to scan and press the scan button. The scanner will emit a light and vibrate (default mode) upon successful scan.

The scanner can read almost all mainstream 1D and 2D barcodes on paper and screen, including color barcodes, inverted barcodes, and GS1 barcodes.

5.2 Shortcut Functions
The scanner features exclusive shortcut buttons for frequently used functions:
- Pairing (Bluetooth/2.4G): Long press the 'M' button.
- Inventory/Normal Mode: Press the scan button and 'M' button simultaneously.
- Battery Level Check: Short press the 'M' button.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To clean the scanner, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the device. Ensure the scanning window is free of dust and smudges for optimal performance.
6.2 Storage
Store the scanner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When not in use for extended periods, ensure the device is powered off to preserve battery life.
7. Troubleshooting
