3. Operating Instructions

The Laurastar Lift Xtra 1980 is designed for ease of use across various fabric types.

3.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the main power button located on the unit. The indicator light will illuminate and flash during heating. It will become steady when ready.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the main power button for a few seconds until the unit shuts down. The unit also features a 10-minute auto-shut-off for safety, or it can be set to continuous-on mode by holding the steam button for 15 seconds.

3.2 Ironing and Steaming

  • Traditional Ironing: Place the garment on an ironing board. Glide the iron over the fabric while pressing the steam button for continuous steam. The 3D soleplate ensures even heat distribution and prevents creases. No temperature adjustment is needed for different fabrics.
  • Vertical Steaming: Hang the garment on a hanger. Hold the iron a few centimeters away from the fabric and press the steam button. Move the iron downwards along the fabric to remove wrinkles. This method is ideal for delicate items, suits, and curtains.
  • DMS Purification: The Dry Microfine Steam (DMS) purifies fabrics by eliminating microorganisms. Use the steam function as described above to benefit from this feature.
  • Protective Soleplate: For very delicate fabrics, attach the included protective soleplate to the iron. This reduces direct heat contact and prevents shine marks.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Laurastar Lift Xtra 1980.

  3. Remove the old anti-scale filter and dispose of it.

  5. Refill the tank with water and reinsert it into the unit.

4.2 Cleaning the Iron Soleplate

If the soleplate becomes dirty, clean it gently when the iron is cool.

  • Use a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Wipe the soleplate clean, then dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the soleplate.

4.3 Storing the Unit

When not in use, ensure the unit is unplugged and cooled. Wrap the steam cord around the designated storage area on the unit. Store in a dry, safe place.
