1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of the NU-Calgon 4171-75 Evap Foam No Rinse Evaporator Coil Cleaner and the Frost King ACF19 Foam Coil Cleaner. RESPONSE (First Aid)

• IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a poison center or doctor.
• IF ON SKIN: Wash off with water and soap. May be harmful if absorbed through skin. Frequent or prolonged contact may defat and dry the skin, leading to discomfort and dermatitis.
• IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
• IF SWALLOWED: In the unlikely event of swallowing, contact a poison center or doctor.

STORAGE

• Protect from sunlight.
• Keep away from heat, sparks, and flames.
• Do not expose to heat. Store at temperatures above 120°F (49°C) as the container may burst.
• Store in a well-ventilated place.

3. Setup and Preparation

1. Power Disconnection: Before servicing, always turn off or disconnect power to the unit you intend to clean. This is crucial for safety.
2. Ventilation: Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
3. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear appropriate eye/face protection. Gloves are also recommended to prevent skin contact.
4. Shake Can: Shake the aerosol can well before use to ensure proper mixing of the contents.

4. Operating Instructions

These products are designed for easy application. Follow these steps for effective coil cleaning:

Application Steps:

1. Remove Cap: Remove the protective cap from the aerosol can.
2. Aim and Spray: Point the nozzle toward the surface to be cleaned. Avoid spraying on electrical wires or connections.
3. Saturate Area: Thoroughly saturate the targeted coil area with the product. The blasting stream easily reaches into tight areas.
4. Self-Rinsing Action: For condensate-producing coils (like evaporator coils), the clinging foam is completely self-rinsing. The foam will break down, and the condensation produced during cooling will wash the emulsified matter off the coil.
5. Optional Rinsing/Wiping: If desired, or if using on non-condensation producing coils (e.g., condenser coils), you may wipe clean or rinse with water.
6. Stubborn Deposits: For extremely stubborn or heavy deposits, a repeat application may be necessary.
7. Scrubbing Cap (Frost King ACF19): The scrubbing cap on the Frost King ACF19 can be used for removing large, imbedded pieces of debris.
8. Restore Power: Once cleaning is complete and the area is clear, turn on or return power to the unit.

• NU-Calgon 4171-75 Evap Foam No Rinse: High performance, heavy-duty detergent. Made with special surfactants and alkaline cleaner. Fortified with corrosion inhibitors, safe for use on metals and other materials. Pleasant lemon scent helps leave the area deodorized. NSF registered for use as a coil cleaner in and around food processing areas.
• Frost King ACF19 Foam Coil Cleaner: Heavy-duty foam detergent. Water-based. Can be sprayed in any position. Aggressive detergent quickly liquefies dirt, grease, oil, or other residue. Fortified with corrosion inhibitors. Will not harm drain pans, plastic, or other materials. Pleasant citrus fragrance helps leave the area cleaned and deodorized. Contains no CFCs, chlorinated or fluorinated solvents.

• Store cans in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat sources, sparks, and open flames.
• Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 120°F (49°C).
