Setup
1. Initial Charging
Your Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before first use, ensure it is fully charged. Place the watch in direct sunlight or under a strong artificial light source for several hours. A full charge can take up to 11 hours in direct sunlight or significantly longer under indoor lighting. Avoid placing the watch too close to incandescent lights as it may overheat.
2. Setting the Time and Date
- Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (located at 3 o'clock) out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
- Set the time: Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure you distinguish between AM and PM when setting the time, especially for the date change.
- Set the date: Push the crown in one click to the first click position. Rotate the crown to set the date.
- Push in the crown: Once time and date are set, push the crown back in to the normal position. The second hand will resume movement.
Operating Instructions
Using the Chronograph
The chronograph function allows you to measure elapsed time.
- Start: Press the upper pusher (button A) to start the chronograph. The chronograph second hand will begin moving.
- Stop: Press the upper pusher (button A) again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated by the chronograph hands.
- Reset: Press the lower pusher (button B) to reset the chronograph. All chronograph hands will return to their zero positions.
Using the Tachymeter
The tachymeter scale on the bezel can be used to measure speed over a known distance (e.g., 1 kilometer or 1 mile) or to calculate production rates.
- For Speed: Start the chronograph at the beginning of the measured distance. Stop the chronograph when the distance is completed. The point on the tachymeter scale indicated by the chronograph second hand shows the average speed per hour.
- For Production Rate: Start the chronograph when an operation begins. Stop it when one unit of work is completed. The number on the tachymeter scale indicated by the chronograph second hand shows the number of units produced per hour.
Maintenance and Care
- Charging: To maintain optimal performance, expose your watch to light regularly. Avoid prolonged storage in dark places.
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Water Resistance: This watch is water resistant to 10 BAR (100 meters / 330 feet). This makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for scuba diving. Do not operate the crown or pushers when the watch is wet or submerged.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (below 0°C / 32°F or above 60°C / 140°F) or sudden temperature changes.
- Impact: Protect your watch from strong impacts and vibrations.
