6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner.
6.1 Emptying the Dust Cup
Empty the dust cup after each use or when it reaches the MAX fill line. Press the dust cup release button to detach it from the main body, then open the bottom flap to empty contents into a trash bin.

6.2 Cleaning Filters
The Eureka AK10 Pet features a 5-stage cyclonic filtration system with a HEPA filter. Clean the filters regularly to maintain suction power.
- Pre-Motor Filters (MIF Filter, Cyclone Filter, Metal Mesh): Remove these filters from the dust cup. Tap off loose dirt. Rinse under cold water until the water runs clear. Allow to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reassembling.
- HEPA Filter: The HEPA filter should be cleaned periodically. Tap off loose dirt. If heavily soiled, it can be rinsed under cold water. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstallation.
It is recommended to clean the pre-motor filters monthly and the HEPA filter every 3-6 months, depending on usage.
