Components Overview
The KERUI M7 system includes the following main components:
- M7 Receiver Unit: The main unit that emits sounds and light.
- PIR Motion Detector: The sensor that detects movement.

Figure 2: Detailed view of the KERUI M7 Receiver and PIR Sensor components. The receiver features an LED night light, speaker, power source input (DC 5V), and ON/OFF switch. The PIR sensor includes a detection window, signal indicator, Micro USB port (for power, not data), ON/OFF switch, and mounting supports. Buttons for mode, volume, and music are located on the side of the receiver.
Setup
Powering the Device
The KERUI M7 receiver supports dual power options:
- DC 5V Adapter: Connect an external DC 5V power adapter to the receiver's power input port.
- AAA Batteries: Insert 3 AAA batteries into the battery compartment of the receiver. Ensure correct polarity.
The PIR motion detector also requires batteries (typically 2 AAA, though not explicitly stated for the P817 model mentioned in feature bullets, the image shows 2 AAA for the sensor). Ensure batteries are inserted correctly.

Figure 3: The KERUI M7 receiver can be powered via a DC 5V adapter or 3 AAA batteries. The PIR sensor typically uses 2 AAA batteries.
Mounting the PIR Motion Detector
The PIR motion detector can be mounted on a wall or ceiling using the provided mounting supports. For optimal detection, consider the following:
- Placement: Position the detector to cover the desired area, such as an entryway, hallway, or window.
- Avoid Obstructions: Ensure there are no large objects blocking the sensor's detection window.
- Environmental Factors: Avoid mounting the PIR detector in direct sunlight or in areas with frequent strong drafts, as this can lead to false alarms. The PIR detector is not waterproof.
- Adjustable Angle: The sensor can be adjusted to cover a wide area, with a detection angle of 100 degrees and a range of up to 8 meters. The mounting bracket allows for 360-degree rotation horizontally and 180-degree vertical adjustment.

Figure 4: The PIR motion detector offers flexible mounting with 360-degree horizontal and 180-degree vertical adjustment for optimal coverage.
Operating Modes
The KERUI M7 offers four intelligent operating modes, selectable via the "Mode" button on the receiver unit:
- Welcome Mode: When motion is detected, the receiver will play a "Hello, welcome" message. This mode is ideal for storefronts or entryways.

Figure 5: Top-left panel shows the Welcome Mode in action, greeting visitors.
- Alarm Mode: Upon detecting motion, the receiver will emit a loud alarm sound (e.g., "wuwuwu") to deter intruders. This mode is suitable for security applications.

- Doorbell Mode: When motion is detected, the receiver will play a selected melody. This functions as a wireless doorbell for visitors.

Figure 7: The KERUI M7 functioning in Doorbell Mode, alerting to a visitor's arrival.
- Night Light Mode: When motion is detected in low-light conditions, the receiver's LED light will flash for 2 seconds to provide temporary illumination. This is useful for hallways or dark areas at night.

Adjusting Melody and Volume
- Melody Selection: The receiver offers 32 different common ringtones. Use the "Music" button to cycle through and select your preferred melody.
- Volume Adjustment: The volume can be set to 4 levels: high, medium, low, and silent. Use the "Volume" button to adjust the sound output according to your needs. The maximum volume can reach 80 dB.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The KERUI M7 receiver and PIR motion detector are equipped with a low battery reminder function. When the battery level is low, replace the batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation and prevent loss of alarm functionality.
- For the M7 Receiver: Replace 3 AAA batteries.
- For the PIR Motion Detector: Replace 2 AAA batteries (for model P817).
Ensure batteries are inserted with the correct polarity.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device not powering on. | Batteries are dead or inserted incorrectly; power adapter is not connected or faulty. | Check battery polarity and replace if necessary. Ensure DC 5V adapter is securely connected and functional. |
| False alarms or frequent triggers. | PIR detector mounted in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in windy areas. | Relocate the PIR detector away from direct sunlight, heat vents, or areas with strong air currents. Ensure it's not detecting pets or moving objects unintentionally. |
| No sound or light when motion is detected. | Volume set to silent; incorrect operating mode selected; receiver and sensor not paired (if applicable); sensor out of range. | Adjust volume. Verify the correct operating mode is selected. Ensure the sensor is within the 150m (open area) operating range. Re-pair devices if necessary (refer to pairing instructions, if provided in a full manual). |
| Limited detection range. | Obstructions blocking the sensor; improper mounting angle. | Clear any obstructions from the sensor's view. Adjust the mounting angle to optimize coverage. |
