1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use, setup, and maintenance of your FiiO K9Pro ESS High Resolution Desktop DAC and Amplifier. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

2. Safety Precautions
To prevent fire, electric shock, or product damage, observe the following safety guidelines:
- Do not expose the device to rain or moisture.
- Do not disassemble or modify the device. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

4. Device Overview
Familiarize yourself with the various components and interfaces of the K9Pro ESS.

4.1 Front Panel
- XLR4 balanced headphone output: For balanced headphone connections.
- 6.35mm headphone output: Standard single-ended headphone output.
- 4.4mm balanced headphone output: For balanced headphone connections.
- RGB indicator light: Displays current sampling rate or status.
- Volume knob: Adjusts output volume.
- Input indicator light: Shows the active input source.
- Output selection switch: Toggles between Line Out, Pre Out, and HP Out.
- Gain switch: Selects low, medium, or high gain.
- Input selection button: Cycles through available input sources (USB, Optical, Coaxial, Bluetooth, Line In).

5. Setup Guide
5.1 Initial Connection
- Connect the provided power cable to the K9Pro ESS and a wall outlet.
- Attach the Bluetooth antenna to its designated port on the rear panel.
- Flip the main power switch on the rear panel to the "ON" position.
- Press the multifunction button on the front panel to power on the device.
5.2 Connecting Audio Sources
The K9Pro ESS offers multiple input options:
- USB Input: Connect your computer or digital audio player via a USB cable to the USB input port.

- Optical/Coaxial Input: Use an optical or coaxial cable to connect to compatible digital audio sources like TVs, CD players, or game consoles.
- Bluetooth Input:
- Select Bluetooth as the input source using the input selection button.
- On your mobile device, search for "FiiO K9Pro ESS" in the Bluetooth settings and pair.
- The device supports high-resolution Bluetooth codecs such as LDAC, aptX Adaptive, and aptX HD.
- Line-in (RCA/4.4mm Balanced): Connect analog audio sources such as preamplifiers or other audio devices.
5.3 Connecting Output Devices
The K9Pro ESS provides various output options:
- Headphones: Connect your headphones to the XLR4, 4.4mm balanced, or 6.35mm single-ended headphone outputs on the front panel.

- Speakers/External Amplifiers: Use the RCA or XLR balanced line-out ports on the rear panel to connect to active speakers or a power amplifier.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
To power on the device, ensure the rear power switch is ON, then press the multifunction button on the front panel. Press and hold the multifunction button to power off.
6.2 Input Selection
Press the Input selection button repeatedly to cycle through available input sources: USB, Optical, Coaxial, Bluetooth, and Line In. The active input will be indicated by the corresponding light.
6.3 Volume Control
Rotate the large Volume knob on the front panel clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The RGB indicator light around the knob may change color based on the sampling rate of the audio being played.
6.4 Gain Adjustment
The Gain switch allows you to select between Low, Medium, and High gain settings. This is useful for matching the output level to the sensitivity of your headphones or speakers. Use a lower gain for sensitive headphones and a higher gain for power-hungry headphones.

6.5 Output Mode Selection
Use the Output selection switch to choose the desired output mode:
- HP Out: Audio is routed to the headphone outputs.
- Pre Out: Audio is routed to the line-out ports with volume control (variable output).
- Line Out: Audio is routed to the line-out ports at a fixed maximum level (fixed output).
6.6 MQA Playback
The K9Pro ESS supports MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) rendering. When playing MQA files, the device will unfold the audio to deliver master-level sound quality. The RGB indicator light will change to magenta to indicate MQA playback.
7. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation slots are not blocked to prevent overheating.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the official FiiO website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
8. Troubleshooting
