Setup

Initial Charge

Your Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before initial use, or if the watch has stopped, ensure it is fully charged. Expose the watch dial to bright light (natural sunlight is ideal) for several hours. A full charge can take up to 11 hours under direct sunlight or significantly longer under indoor lighting. Avoid placing the watch in direct sunlight on a car dashboard or other places where it may become extremely hot.

Time Synchronization (Radio-Controlled)

Your Promaster Sky watch is radio-controlled, meaning it automatically receives time signals to maintain precise time. The watch attempts to receive a signal daily, typically overnight. For best reception, place the watch near a window, away from electronic devices that may cause interference.

  • Automatic Reception: The watch will attempt to synchronize automatically.
  • Manual Reception: Refer to the detailed instructions in the full manual for initiating manual time signal reception if needed.
  • Reception Conditions: Signal strength can vary based on location, weather, and proximity to signal towers.

Adjusting the Bracelet

The metal bracelet can be adjusted for a comfortable fit. It is highly recommended to have this adjustment performed by a qualified jeweler or an authorized Citizen service center to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch.

Operating Instructions

Basic Timekeeping

Once charged and synchronized, your watch will display the current time and date. The main hands indicate hours, minutes, and seconds. The date is displayed in the date window.

Chronograph Function

The chronograph allows for precise timing of events.

  1. Start/Stop: Press the upper pusher (A) to start and stop the chronograph.
  2. Reset: Press the lower pusher (B) to reset the chronograph to zero after stopping.

Alarm Function

Your watch is equipped with an alarm function.

  • Setting the Alarm: Use the crown and/or pushers to set the desired alarm time. Refer to the full instruction manual for specific steps.
  • Activating/Deactivating: The alarm can be turned on or off as needed.

World Time Function

The Promaster Sky series often includes a world time function, allowing you to easily switch between different time zones.

  • Selecting Time Zones: Rotate the crown or use specific pushers to select a city or time zone.
  • Home/Local Time Swap: Some models allow for quick swapping between home and local time displays.

Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant to 200 meters (20 BAR). This rating makes it suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. It is not designed for scuba diving. Ensure the crown is pushed in completely before exposing the watch to water.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Regularly wipe your watch with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. For metal bracelets and water-resistant cases, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Charging Guidelines

To maintain optimal performance, ensure your Eco-Drive watch receives regular exposure to light. If stored in darkness for extended periods, the power reserve will deplete. Periodically expose it to bright light to recharge.

Storage

When storing the watch for long periods, place it in an area where it can receive some light, or ensure it is fully charged before storage. Avoid extreme temperatures and high humidity.

Service and Repair

For any service, repair, or battery replacement (though Eco-Drive watches do not require traditional battery changes, the rechargeable cell may eventually need service after many years), always contact an authorized Citizen service center. Unauthorized repairs can void your warranty and potentially damage the watch.
