Setup and Installation
Proper installation ensures optimal performance and comfort. The 20S EVO can be mounted using either the helmet clamp kit or the adhesive mount adapter.
1. Choosing a Mounting Location
Select a flat surface on the left side of your helmet where the unit will not obstruct your vision or movement. Ensure the microphone can be positioned correctly in front of your mouth.
2. Installing the Clamp Unit or Adhesive Mount
- Clamp Unit: Loosen the screws on the clamp unit and slide it between the helmet shell and the inner padding. Tighten the screws securely.
- Adhesive Mount: Clean the chosen helmet surface thoroughly with an alcohol wipe and let it dry. Peel off the backing from the adhesive mount and firmly press it onto the helmet for at least 30 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure before use.
3. Attaching the Main Unit
Slide the main 20S EVO unit onto the mounted clamp or adhesive adapter until it clicks securely into place.

4. Speaker and Microphone Installation
- Speakers: Place the HD speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets, ensuring they are centered over your ears for optimal sound. Use the provided hook and loop fasteners to secure them.
- Microphone: For full-face helmets, use the wired microphone and route it along the helmet's interior. For open-face or modular helmets, attach the boom microphone to the helmet's chin bar using the hook and loop fastener, positioning it approximately 1-2 cm from your mouth.

Operating Instructions
The Sena 20S EVO features intuitive controls, primarily through its jog dial and various buttons.
1. Power On/Off
- Power On: Press and hold the Phone Button and the Jog Dial for 1 second.
- Power Off: Tap the Phone Button and the Jog Dial simultaneously.
2. Bluetooth Pairing
To pair with your mobile phone or other Bluetooth devices:
- With the 20S EVO powered off, press and hold the Phone Button for 5 seconds until you hear "Phone pairing".
- On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for devices. Select "Sena 20S EVO" from the list.
- If prompted, enter PIN "0000".
3. Intercom Communication
The 20S EVO supports group intercom communication for up to 8 riders over a distance of up to 2.0 km (1.2 miles) in open terrain.
- Start Intercom: Tap the Jog Dial once to initiate intercom with the first paired friend.
- End Intercom: Tap the Jog Dial once again.
- Group Intercom: Follow the instructions in the full user manual for multi-way intercom setup.
4. Music Playback
- Play/Pause: Press the Jog Dial for 1 second.
- Next Track: Rotate the Jog Dial clockwise.
- Previous Track: Rotate the Jog Dial counter-clockwise.
- Volume Control: Rotate the Jog Dial while pressing it down.

5. Phone Calls
- Answer Call: Tap the Phone Button.
- End Call: Press the Phone Button for 2 seconds.
- Reject Call: Press the Phone Button for 2 seconds when a call is incoming.
- Voice Dial: Press the Phone Button for 3 seconds.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps prolong the life of your Sena 20S EVO.
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Charging: Charge the unit fully before long periods of storage. The charging time is approximately 2.5 hours.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Sena website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
Troubleshooting
