Intended Use: The DC500 is suitable for extracting large amounts of dust and chips from woodworking machinery. It is intended for indoor use in wood workshops or similar environments. Any other use is considered unintended and may lead to hazards.
2. Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury and damage to the equipment:
- Ensure the power supply matches the specifications on the rating plate.
- Do not operate the extraction system in damp or wet conditions.
- Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the operating area.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection and hearing protection.
- Disconnect the power plug before any cleaning, maintenance, or assembly work.

- Ensure all connections, especially the hose and collection bag, are securely fastened before operation.

3. Setup and Assembly
The Scheppach DC500 requires some assembly before first use. Follow these steps:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present and undamaged.
- Base Assembly: Assemble the wheeled base frame according to the diagrams provided in the separate assembly guide. Ensure the wheels are securely attached for easy transport.
- Motor Unit Installation: Mount the motor unit onto the assembled base frame. Secure it with the provided fasteners.
- Filter Bag Attachment: Attach the upper filter bag to the outlet of the motor unit. Ensure a tight seal to prevent dust leakage.
- Collection Bag Installation: Secure the 75-liter collection bag to the lower part of the unit. Ensure the bag is properly seated and clamped to prevent dislodging during operation.
- Hose Connection: Connect the flexible 2-meter suction hose to the inlet of the extraction system. Use the appropriate adapter from the 4-piece adapter set to connect the hose to your woodworking machine's dust port.

4. Operation
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your DC500 Extraction System:
- Placement: Position the extraction system on a stable, level surface near the woodworking machine it will be connected to. The driving device allows for easy movement.
- Connect to Power Tool: Ensure the flexible suction hose is securely connected to the dust port of your woodworking machine using the appropriate adapter.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Starting the System: Press the green "ON" push button on the motor unit to start the extraction system.
- Operating the Power Tool: Once the extraction system is running, you can begin operating your woodworking machine. The DC500 will collect dust and chips as they are produced.
- Stopping the System: After completing your work, first turn off your woodworking machine, then press the red "OFF" push button on the DC500 to stop the extraction system.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your DC500. Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance.
- Emptying the Collection Bag: The 75-liter collection bag should be emptied regularly, especially when it appears full. A full bag reduces suction efficiency. Release the clamps, remove the bag, dispose of contents, and reattach securely.
- Filter Bag Cleaning: The upper filter bag (HEPA Filter type) should be cleaned periodically. Depending on usage, shake out the dust or gently brush the filter to remove accumulated particles. Replace the filter bag if it becomes damaged or excessively clogged.
- Hose Inspection: Regularly inspect the flexible suction hose for any blockages, tears, or damage. Clear any obstructions to maintain airflow.
- General Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Motor Unit Inspection: Periodically check the motor unit for any unusual noises or vibrations. If issues arise, consult the troubleshooting section or contact customer support.
