4.3 First Use Preparation

During the first few uses, a harmless odor and a small amount of smoke may be produced. This is normal and will disappear after a few uses. It is recommended to iron an old piece of fabric for the first few minutes to ensure any residue is removed from the soleplate.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On and Heating Up

  1. Place the base unit on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  3. Press the On/Off button on the control panel. The indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Wait for the iron to heat up. The indicator light will stop flashing (or turn solid) when the iron is ready for use. This typically takes a few minutes.

5.2 Ironing Techniques

The Express Easy steam generator iron offers powerful steam for efficient ironing.

  • Horizontal Ironing: Place the garment on an ironing board. Press the steam trigger under the handle to release steam as you glide the iron over the fabric.
  • Vertical Steaming: For delicate fabrics, curtains, or garments on a hanger, hold the iron vertically a few centimeters away from the fabric. Press the steam trigger to release steam.

5.4 Powering Off

After use, press the On/Off button to turn off the appliance. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and allow the iron to cool down completely before storing.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Soleplate

To maintain the glide of your soleplate, clean it regularly. Use a damp cloth or a non-abrasive cleaning stick specifically designed for iron soleplates. Do not use abrasive pads or metallic objects.

6.2 Descaling

Regular descaling is crucial for the longevity and performance of your steam generator. Refer to the specific descaling instructions provided in your product's full manual, as procedures can vary. Generally, this involves a rinse cycle to flush out mineral deposits.

6.3 Storage

Once the iron has cooled down completely, empty any remaining water from the tank. Secure the iron to its base unit (if applicable) and wrap the power cord around the designated storage area. Store the appliance in a dry, safe place.
