Setup

1. Battery Installation

The PRUNUS J-985 operates on two AAA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.

  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Connecting Headphones

Headphones are required for listening and also serve as the FM antenna.

  1. Insert the 3.5mm jack of your headphones into the earphone jack located on the top of the radio.
  2. Ensure the headphones are fully inserted for optimal signal reception and sound quality.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Slide the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position to power on the radio. The power indicator light will illuminate. Slide it to "OFF" to power down.

2. Selecting a Band (AM/FM/FM-ST)

Use the AM/FM/FM-ST switch to select your desired frequency band:

  • AM: For Amplitude Modulation broadcasts (530-1710KHz).
  • FM: For Frequency Modulation broadcasts (87-108MHz).
  • FM-ST: For FM Stereo broadcasts, providing enhanced audio quality through headphones.

3. Tuning to a Station

Rotate the Tuning Wheel (located on the side) to scan through frequencies. Stop rotating when you hear a clear broadcast. The analog dial will show the approximate frequency.

4. Adjusting Volume

Rotate the Volume Wheel (located on the side, below the tuning wheel) to increase or decrease the sound level to your preference.

5. Using the Back Clip

The integrated metal back clip allows for convenient hands-free use. Simply slide the clip onto your pocket, belt, or bag strap.
