Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your MELOKEA office chair. It is recommended to have two people for assembly, though it can be done by one.
- Attach Casters to Base: Insert the five casters (F) into the holes at the end of each leg of the star base (E). Push firmly until they click into place.

- Insert Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder (D) into the center hole of the assembled star base (E).
- Attach Mechanism Plate to Seat: Align the mechanism plate (G) with the screw holes on the underside of the seat cushion (B). Ensure the front of the mechanism faces the front of the seat. Secure with screws from the hardware pack (I) using the provided Allen key.
- Connect Backrest to Seat: Attach the backrest assembly (A) to the seat cushion (B) using the designated screws. Do not fully tighten all screws for the armrests until the chair part is fully assembled, as this allows for slight flexibility.
- Attach Armrests: Secure the armrests (C) to both the backrest and the seat cushion using the appropriate screws. Once all connections are made, fully tighten all screws for the armrests and backrest.
- Attach Headrest: Slide the headrest (H) into the top of the backrest assembly. Ensure it is securely seated.
- Connect Seat to Gas Lift: Carefully place the assembled seat and backrest onto the gas lift cylinder (D). The tapered end of the gas lift should fit snugly into the mechanism plate.
- Final Check: Wiggle the chair to ensure all connections are secure and stable.
Operating Instructions
Your MELOKEA office chair offers several adjustments to customize your seating experience:
- Height Adjustment: To raise the chair, lift the lever located under the right side of the seat while taking your weight off the seat. To lower the chair, lift the same lever while seated. The height adjustment range is approximately 48 cm to 54 cm (18.9 to 21.3 inches).
- Tilt/Rocking Function (90°-115°):

- To enable rocking, pull out the lever on the left side of the seat.
- To lock the chair in an upright position, push the lever in.
- Adjust the tilt tension by rotating the round knob located under the front of the seat. Turn clockwise to increase tension (harder to recline), counter-clockwise to decrease tension (easier to recline).
- Lumbar Support: The S-shaped ergonomic design of the backrest provides integrated lumbar support. This high-density mesh back offers precise support and helps alleviate lumbar and back pain from prolonged sitting.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your MELOKEA office chair.
- Cleaning:
- For fabric and mesh surfaces, use a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Wipe plastic and metal parts with a damp cloth.
- Vacuum the mesh backrest and seat cushion periodically to remove dust and debris.
- Caster Care: Periodically clean hair and debris from the casters to ensure smooth movement. The lightweight and soft PU casters are designed for various floor types, including marble, hardwood, and tile.
- Hardware Check: Every 3-6 months, check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain stability and safety.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your chair, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Chair sinks slowly or does not hold height. | Faulty gas lift cylinder. | Contact customer support for a replacement gas lift cylinder. (Note: Some user reviews mention this issue and successful replacement by seller). |
| Chair wobbles or feels unstable. | Loose screws or improper assembly. | Check and tighten all assembly screws, especially those connecting the seat, backrest, and armrests. Ensure the gas lift is properly seated in the base and mechanism. |
| Casters do not roll smoothly. | Debris (hair, lint) caught in casters. | Turn the chair over and carefully remove any debris from the caster wheels. |
| Chair makes squeaking noises. | Loose connections or friction between parts. | Tighten all screws. Apply a small amount of silicone spray or grease to moving parts if the noise persists (avoiding fabric/mesh). |
