5. Operating Modes
The MEDION MD 37215 offers three primary operating modes:

Figure 5: The three primary functions of the air conditioner.
5.1 Cooling Mode (Cool)
This mode provides powerful cooling. Set your desired temperature using the Up/Down buttons. The unit will cool the room to the set temperature. Adjust fan speed for comfort.
5.2 Dehumidification Mode (Dry)
In this mode, the unit removes excess moisture from the air, helping to reduce humidity. The fan speed is typically fixed in this mode. Ensure the condensate hose is properly connected for continuous drainage, or regularly empty the internal water tank.
5.3 Ventilation Mode (Fan)
This mode circulates air without cooling or dehumidifying. Use it for general air circulation. Fan speed can be adjusted.
5.4 Sleep Mode
Activates quieter operation and gradually adjusts the temperature for comfortable sleep. Press the 'Sleep' button on the control panel or remote.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your air conditioner.
7.1 Air Filter Cleaning
The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality. A dirty filter can reduce efficiency and airflow.
- Unplug the unit from the power outlet.
- Locate and remove the air filter (usually at the back or side of the unit).
- Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash it gently with warm water and mild detergent.
- Allow the filter to dry completely before reinserting it into the unit.
7.2 Draining Water
The unit will accumulate condensate water. In dehumidification mode, continuous drainage via the condensate hose is recommended. Otherwise, the internal tank will fill, and the unit will stop operating until emptied. Refer to the manual for specific draining instructions.
7.3 Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
7.4 Storage
Before long-term storage, ensure the unit is completely drained of water. Clean the air filter and store the unit in a dry, cool place, covered to protect it from dust.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
