  • Wireless transmission range of up to 200 feet (60 meters) using a 433 MHz signal.
  • Supports 3 selectable channels for monitoring multiple locations.
  • LCD display for direct temperature and humidity readings.
  • Battery-powered (requires 2 AAA batteries).

2. Compatibility

This TX16 Remote Outdoor Sensor is specifically designed for use with the following Geevon Weather Station and Thermometer models:

  • Geevon 208270
  • Geevon 208667
  • Geevon 208664
  • Geevon 22146
  • Geevon 228646

Important: This sensor is NOT compatible with the Geevon 2086122 Weather Station. Please verify your main unit's model number before purchasing or attempting to pair this sensor.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the sensor.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2. Channel Selection

The sensor supports three channels (1, 2, or 3). You must select the same channel on both the remote sensor and your main weather station unit for successful communication.

  1. After installing batteries, the sensor will automatically begin transmitting.
  2. On the sensor, locate the channel selection switch (usually inside the battery compartment or a small button). Select your desired channel (e.g., Channel 1).
  3. On your main weather station unit, set it to the corresponding channel to receive data from this sensor. Refer to your main unit's manual for specific instructions on channel selection.

3.3. Optimal Placement

For accurate temperature and humidity readings, consider the following placement guidelines:

  • Place the sensor in a well-ventilated area.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, as this can lead to artificially high temperature readings.
  • Keep the sensor away from heat sources (e.g., exhaust vents, heating units) and moisture sources (e.g., sprinklers, standing water).
  • For outdoor use, it is recommended to place the sensor under an eave or other sheltered location to protect it from direct rain and harsh weather, despite its weather-resistant design.
  • Ensure the sensor is within the 200-foot (60-meter) transmission range of your main weather station unit. Obstacles like thick walls or metal structures can reduce this range.
Diagram illustrating optimal placement for up to three remote sensors. Examples include placing a sensor under a house eave, on a patio table, and inside a cellar, all within a 60-meter (200-foot) transmission range of a main weather station unit. Icons indicate IPX4 waterproof rating, avoidance of direct sunlight/rain, and recommendation to use under eaves.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Data Transmission

The sensor transmits temperature and humidity data wirelessly every 30 seconds to the paired main weather station unit. The main unit will then display the readings for the corresponding channel.

4.2. Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)

To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature units:

  • Locate the small pinhole switch on the sensor. This is typically found near the LCD display or inside the battery compartment.
  • Use a thin object, such as a needle or a paperclip, to gently press into the pinhole switch.
  • The temperature unit on the sensor's LCD display will toggle between °C and °F. Your main weather station unit should also update to reflect this change if it is set to receive data from this sensor.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the sensor's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the sensor's LCD or the main unit's display. Always replace both AAA batteries at the same time.
  • Environmental Protection: While the sensor is weather-resistant, prolonged exposure to extreme conditions (e.g., heavy rain, snow, direct intense sunlight) can affect its lifespan and accuracy. Position it in a sheltered location whenever possible.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No readings or incorrect readings on main unit.
  • Incorrect channel selected.
  • Sensor out of range.
  • Low or dead batteries.
  • Interference.
  • Incompatible main unit.
  • Ensure the sensor and main unit are set to the same channel (1, 2, or 3).
  • Move the sensor closer to the main unit. Reduce obstacles between them.
  • Replace batteries in the sensor.
  • Relocate the sensor away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • Verify your main unit is listed as compatible in Section 2.
Inaccurate temperature/humidity readings.
  • Direct sunlight exposure.
  • Near heat/moisture sources.
  • Poor ventilation.
  • Relocate the sensor to a shaded area.
  • Move the sensor away from any heat-emitting appliances or water sources.
  • Ensure the sensor is in a well-ventilated spot.
Sensor display is blank.
  • Dead batteries.
  • Incorrect battery installation.
  • Replace batteries.
  • Check battery polarity (+/-).
