This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and effective use of your VGR V-178 rechargeable cordless hair trimmer. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference.

2. Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of electric shock, injury, or fire, always follow these basic safety precautions:

• Do not immerse the trimmer or charging base in water or other liquids.
• Keep the appliance away from water sources when charging.
• Do not use the trimmer if it is damaged, or if the charging cable or plug is damaged.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Only use attachments supplied by the manufacturer.
• Do not open the appliance casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
• Ensure your hands are dry when handling the plug or operating the trimmer.

5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Trimmer

1. Before first use, fully charge the trimmer for approximately 2 hours.
2. Connect the USB charging cable to the charging base and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port.
3. Place the trimmer onto the charging base. The LED display will show the charging progress.
4. Once fully charged, the LED display will indicate 100%. Disconnect the trimmer from the charger.

5.2 Attaching Guide Combs

• Ensure the trimmer is turned off before attaching or detaching guide combs.
• Align the desired guide comb with the trimmer blade and push it firmly until it clicks into place.
• To remove, gently pull the comb away from the blade.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

1. Press the power button to turn the trimmer on. The LED display will illuminate.
2. Select the appropriate guide comb for your desired hair length.
3. Hold the trimmer with the blade flat against the skin and move it slowly against the direction of hair growth.
4. After use, press the power button to turn the trimmer off.

6.2 Trimming Tips

• For best results, use the trimmer on clean, dry hair.
• Start with a longer guide comb and gradually reduce the length if needed.
• Stretch the skin taut in the area you are trimming for a smoother cut.
• Regularly clean the blades during use to prevent hair buildup.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Blades

1. Ensure the trimmer is turned off and unplugged from the charging base.
2. Use the provided cleaning brush to remove loose hairs from the blades.
3. The blades can be rinsed under running water. Ensure the trimmer body does not get wet if it is not waterproof. Dry thoroughly before reassembly or storage.

7.2 Oiling the Blades

• After cleaning and drying, apply 1-2 drops of the lubricating oil (or a suitable light machine oil) to the blades.
• Turn the trimmer on for a few seconds to allow the oil to distribute evenly.
• Wipe off any excess oil with a soft cloth. Regular oiling maintains blade performance and longevity.

7.3 Storage

• Store the trimmer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.

8. Troubleshooting

• Trimmer not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. If not, place it on the charging base.
• Poor trimming performance: Clean the blades thoroughly and apply lubricating oil. Ensure the guide comb is correctly attached.
• Trimmer not charging: Check if the USB cable and adapter are properly connected. Ensure the trimmer is correctly seated on the charging base.

The warranty is against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 Months from the date of original purchase (Invoice) and does not apply to intentional or unintentional damage by the user. Initiating a warranty claim is pretty simple and straight forward. You can contact us on WARRANTY@VGRINDIA.CO.IN with clear description of the problem, associated pictures and copy of original invoice. Once the claim has been verified, the company will, at its own discretion either repair or if a repair is not possible then exchange the product. In either of the cases, the customers will need to bear the cost of transporting the product to us and we will bear the cost of transporting back, if there is a need.
