Setup and Installation
Installation requires basic electrical knowledge and tools. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
- Prepare for Installation:
- Turn off power at the main circuit breaker.
- Ensure the mounting location is structurally sound and can support the fan's weight.
- Mount the Bracket:
Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling junction box using appropriate screws and anchors. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Assemble the Fan Blades:
Attach the 5 fan blades to the blade holders. You can choose between the silver or oak side of the reversible blades to face downwards. Ensure all screws are tightened securely.

- Hang the Fan:
Carefully lift the fan motor assembly and hang it onto the mounting bracket. Make sure it is securely seated.
- Wire the Fan:
Connect the electrical wires according to the wiring diagram provided in the separate installation guide. Typically, this involves connecting live, neutral, and ground wires. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
- Install the Light Kit:
Connect the light kit wires to the fan motor assembly. Install two E27 light bulbs (not included) into the sockets. Attach the glass shade to the light kit.
- Attach the Canopy:
Slide the canopy up to the ceiling and secure it to cover the wiring and mounting bracket.
- Final Checks:
Double-check all connections and ensure no wires are pinched. Restore power at the circuit breaker.
Operating Instructions
Your Eglo BALLINA ceiling fan is operated using two pull chains.
Fan Speed Control
One pull chain controls the fan speed. Pull the chain repeatedly to cycle through the speeds:
- 1st pull: High speed
- 2nd pull: Medium speed
- 3rd pull: Low speed
- 4th pull: Fan off
The fan features an internal AC motor with 62 watts output, providing three adjustable speeds.
Light Control
The other pull chain controls the integrated light. Pull the chain to turn the light on or off.
The light kit accommodates two E27 bulbs, each with a maximum wattage of 40W.
Summer/Winter Function
A reversible rotation direction allows the fan to be used year-round to optimize room climate. A switch on the motor housing (usually above the blades) controls this function.
- Summer Mode (Counter-clockwise rotation): Creates a downward airflow, generating a cooling breeze.
- Winter Mode (Clockwise rotation): Creates an upward airflow, circulating warm air trapped near the ceiling downwards, helping to distribute heat more evenly.
To change the direction, ensure the fan is off, then slide the switch on the motor housing to the desired setting.

Note: This model does not include a remote control. A compatible remote control (EGLO 35064) is available separately.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning:
Always disconnect power before cleaning. Clean the fan with a dry cloth. Do not use water or abrasive cleaners, as this can damage the finish or electrical components.
- Blade Balance:
If the fan wobbles, check that all blade screws are tight and that the blades are not bent or damaged. A balancing kit (not included) can be used if necessary.
- Bulb Replacement:
Ensure the power is off and the bulbs have cooled before replacing them. Use only E27 bulbs, maximum 40W.
- Bulb Recycling Information:
For information on recycling light bulbs, please refer to local recycling guidelines. Proper disposal helps protect the environment.
- Bulb Breakage and Cleanup Information:
In case of a broken or damaged bulb, ensure the area is well-ventilated. Carefully collect all glass fragments using gloves and a stiff brush. Do not use a vacuum cleaner immediately. Dispose of the broken bulb and cleanup materials in a sealed bag according to local waste disposal regulations.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
