2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire, or injury to persons, this product must be used in accordance with the following instructions.

• Read all instructions before using the electric blanket.
• DO NOT use with infants, children, incapacitated persons, or anyone insensitive to heat.
• DO NOT use on waterbeds, bunk beds, adjustable beds, or children's cribs and beds.

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Unpacking and Placement

1. Carefully remove the electric blanket from its packaging.
2. Spread the blanket evenly over your mattress, ensuring it does not hang over the sides or foot of the bed. The connectors should be positioned at the foot of the bed.
3. Ensure the blanket is not folded, bunched, or tucked under the mattress.

3.2 Connecting the Controllers

Your King size Serta electric blanket comes with two controllers for dual temperature zones.

1. Locate the connector ports on the blanket, typically at the foot end.
2. Align the arrows on the controller's plug with the arrows on the blanket's connector port.
3. Firmly push the plug into the port until it clicks securely into place. Do not force it.
4. Repeat for the second controller on the other side of the blanket.
5. Plug each controller's power cord into a separate 120V/60Hz wall outlet. Avoid using extension cords or power strips.

4. Operating Instructions

Each controller operates independently, allowing two users to customize their warmth settings.

4.1 Powering On/Off

• Press the ON/OFF button on the controller to turn the blanket on or off. The LCD display will illuminate when on.

4.2 Adjusting Heat Settings

Your blanket has 10 heat settings (1-10).

• Use the + and - buttons to increase or decrease the heat level.
• Start with a lower setting and adjust as needed for your comfort.

4.3 Setting the Auto Shut-Off Timer

The blanket features an automatic shut-off timer that can be set from 1 to 12 hours.

• Press the TIMER button to cycle through the available hours.
• The blanket will automatically turn off after the selected time has elapsed.

4.4 Pre-Heating

To warm your bed before use:

• Turn the blanket on and set it to your desired heat level approximately 15-30 minutes before getting into bed.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your Serta electric blanket.

5.1 Disconnecting Before Cleaning

1. Always unplug the power cords from the wall outlets.
2. Press the secure lock on the connector (if applicable) and gently pull the controller plug out of the blanket's connector port.

5.2 Washing Instructions

The Serta electric blanket is machine washable.

1. Pre-soak the blanket for 5-15 minutes in cold water with a small amount of mild detergent.
2. Wash on a gentle or delicate cycle in cold water.
3. Rinse thoroughly.
4. Remove immediately after the spin cycle to prevent creasing.

5.3 Drying Instructions

1. Tumble dry on a low or medium heat setting for no more than 5 minutes.
2. Remove the blanket from the dryer while still slightly damp.
3. Gently stretch the blanket to its original shape and hang to finish drying.
4. DO NOT use clothes pins as they may damage the wiring.
5. DO NOT iron the blanket.

5.4 Storage

When storing your electric blanket at the end of the season:

• Ensure the blanket is completely dry.
• Roll the blanket loosely rather than folding it tightly.
• Store in a cool, dry place.
• DO NOT compress it or place heavy items on top, as this can damage the internal wires.

6. Troubleshooting

If you experience any issues with your Serta electric blanket, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Problem: The controller light is blinking.
  Solution: Unplug and reconnect the blanket's power cord to the wall outlet. Ensure the controller is securely connected to the blanket. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
• Problem: The controller feels warm to the touch.
  Solution: This is normal. The control will feel warm (not hot) when functioning properly. Small amounts of electricity cycle through it, which may cause the warmth.
• Problem: The blanket is not heating.
  Solution: Check that both the blanket and controller are properly plugged into the wall outlet and securely connected to each other. Ensure the heat setting is not at '0' or 'L'.
• Problem: Uneven heating.
  Solution: Ensure the blanket is spread out flat on the bed without any folds, bunches, or heavy objects on top that could impede heat distribution.
