5. Setup
5.1 Prerequisites
- A compatible ZigBee Bridge (e.g., SONOFF ZigBee Bridge) is required for the SNZB-03 to function.
- Ensure your ZigBee Bridge is powered on and connected to your network.
- Download and install the eWeLink app on your smartphone.
5.2 Battery Installation
The SNZB-03 requires one Lithium Metal battery. To install or replace the battery:
- Carefully open the back cover of the sensor.
- Insert the Lithium Metal battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the back cover securely.
5.3 Pairing with ZigBee Bridge
Follow these steps to pair your SNZB-03 motion sensor with your ZigBee Bridge:
- Open the eWeLink app and navigate to your ZigBee Bridge device.
- Put the ZigBee Bridge into pairing mode (refer to your Bridge's manual if unsure).
- On the SNZB-03 sensor, press and hold the reset button (usually a small pinhole button) for about 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes, indicating it's in pairing mode.
- The sensor should appear in the eWeLink app. Follow the on-screen prompts to add it.
5.4 Mounting the Sensor
The SNZB-03 can be easily mounted using the included 3M adhesive. Choose a strategic location within its detection range (up to 6 meters and 110° angle) where motion detection is desired, such as hallways, entryways, or rooms.
- Clean the surface where you intend to mount the sensor.
- Peel off the protective film from the 3M adhesive on the back of the sensor.
- Firmly press the sensor onto the desired surface for a few seconds.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Motion Detection and Alerts
Once paired, the SNZB-03 will detect motion within its range. When motion is detected, you will receive an instant alert notification on your mobile phone via the eWeLink app.

6.2 Smart Scene Automation
The primary function of the SNZB-03 is to trigger smart scenes. You can set up automated actions based on motion detection:
- Trigger Lights: For example, set a scene where lights automatically turn on when motion is detected in a hallway.
- Activate Wi-Fi Devices: The ZigBee Bridge allows the motion sensor to activate not only ZigBee devices but also connected Wi-Fi devices.

6.3 Camera Linking
For enhanced security, you can link a compatible camera to the motion sensor within the eWeLink app. This allows you to view what's happening in your home through the camera feed directly on the sensor's page in the app when motion is detected.

6.4 History Records Check
The eWeLink app stores a 3-month history of motion detection events, allowing you to review past activities and monitor your home's security over time.
6.5 Trigger Mechanism
The SNZB-03 operates with a specific trigger mechanism:
- No motion is detected: When motion is detected, after one minute of unoccupied movement, a "no motion detected" status is triggered.
- Motion is detected: The next trigger can be activated if there is no motion detected within one minute after the previous detection.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Battery Replacement
The SNZB-03 is powered by a Lithium Metal battery. When the battery level drops to 10%, you will receive a low-battery notification on your eWeLink app. Replace the battery promptly to ensure continuous operation. Refer to Section 5.2 for battery installation steps.
7.2 Cleaning
Wipe the sensor periodically with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
8. Troubleshooting
- Sensor not detecting motion:
- Check battery level and replace if low.
- Ensure the sensor is within range of the ZigBee Bridge.
- Verify the sensor's placement and ensure no obstructions are blocking its detection angle.
- Check the trigger mechanism settings in the app (refer to Section 6.5).
- Sensor frequently disconnects or shows offline:
- Ensure the ZigBee Bridge is stable and powered on.
- Move the sensor closer to the ZigBee Bridge or consider adding Zigbee repeaters if you have a large home.
- Re-pair the sensor with the ZigBee Bridge if the issue persists.
- Alerts not received:
- Check your phone's notification settings for the eWeLink app.
- Ensure your phone has an active internet connection.
- Verify that the smart scene for alerts is correctly configured in the app.
- Difficulty pairing the sensor:
- Ensure the sensor and Bridge are in pairing mode simultaneously.
- Try resetting the sensor (press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds).
- Ensure no other Zigbee devices are interfering with the pairing process.
