Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, use, and maintenance of your genuine CITIZEN Promaster 22mm Urethane Watch Band. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your watch band.

Setup and Installation

Installing your new watch band requires careful attention to detail. It is recommended to use appropriate watch tools to avoid scratching your watch or the band.

Required Tools:

  • Spring bar tool (not included with band)
  • Soft cloth to protect watch surface

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare Your Watch: Place your watch face down on a soft, clean cloth to prevent scratches.
  2. Remove Old Band (if applicable): Use a spring bar tool to compress the spring bar at one end of the old band. Gently pull the band away from the watch lug. Repeat for the other side.
  3. Insert Spring Bars into New Band: Carefully insert a spring bar into the designated holes on one end of the new urethane watch band. Ensure it is securely seated.
  4. Attach Band to Watch:

Align one end of the spring bar with the lug hole on the watch case. Using the spring bar tool, compress the other end of the spring bar and guide it into the corresponding lug hole. You should hear a small click as the spring bar locks into place.

  5. Verify Security: Gently pull on the band to ensure both ends of the spring bar are securely seated in the watch lugs. Repeat steps 3-5 for the other half of the watch band.

Note: Spring bars are not included with this watch band and must be purchased separately or reused from your existing band.

Operating (Wearing and Adjustment)

Once installed, the urethane watch band offers a comfortable and secure fit. Adjust the band to your wrist size using the buckle and the series of holes provided.

Adjusting the Fit:

  1. Thread the longer end of the band through the buckle.
  2. Insert the buckle pin into one of the adjustment holes that provides a snug yet comfortable fit on your wrist.
  3. Secure the excess band length using the two keepers (loops) on the shorter end of the band.

Maintenance and Care

To maintain the appearance and extend the life of your urethane watch band, follow these care instructions:

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the band with mild soap and water. Use a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub away dirt and debris. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Drying: After cleaning or exposure to water, dry the band completely with a soft cloth. Avoid direct sunlight or excessive heat, which can degrade the urethane material over time.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the watch band in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Do not expose the band to harsh chemicals, solvents, or strong detergents, as these can damage the material.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your watch band, consider the following common solutions:

  • Band not attaching securely: Ensure the spring bars are correctly inserted into the band and fully seated within the watch lugs. A click sound indicates proper seating. Verify the spring bar length is appropriate for your watch's lug width.
  • Band feels uncomfortable: Adjust the buckle to a different hole to find a more comfortable fit. Ensure the band is not too tight or too loose.
  • Band appears dirty or discolored: Refer to the "Maintenance and Care" section for proper cleaning instructions. Persistent discoloration may indicate material degradation over time, which is normal for urethane products.
  • Spring bars are missing: This watch band does not include spring bars. Please acquire them separately.
