5. Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure your system is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. It is recommended to wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to components.
5.1. CPU Installation
- Locate the AMD AM4 socket on the motherboard.
- Lift the load lever on the side of the socket.
- Carefully align the triangular mark on your AMD Ryzen CPU with the corresponding mark on the socket.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it. It should sit flush.
- Lower the load lever to secure the CPU in place.
- Install the CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions, ensuring proper thermal paste application.
5.2. Memory (RAM) Installation
- Open the clips at both ends of the DDR4 DIMM sockets.
- Align the notch on the memory module with the notch in the DIMM slot.
- Insert the memory module firmly into the slot until the clips snap into place. Ensure both clips are fully closed.
- For dual-channel operation, refer to your motherboard manual for specific slot pairing (e.g., A2 and B2).
5.3. Graphics Card and Expansion Card Installation
- Locate the PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot for your graphics card.
- Remove the corresponding expansion slot cover from your PC case.
- Align the graphics card with the PCIe slot and press down firmly until it is seated correctly and the retention clip locks.
- Secure the card to the case with a screw.
- Connect any necessary PCIe power cables from your power supply to the graphics card.
- Repeat for any other expansion cards in the PCIe 3.0 x4 slots.
5.4. Storage Device Installation (M.2 SSD, SATA SSD/HDD)
- M.2 SSD: Locate the M.2 slot. Insert the M.2 SSD at an angle into the slot, then gently push it down and secure it with the provided screw.
- SATA Devices: Connect one end of a SATA data cable to a SATA 6Gb/s port on the motherboard and the other end to your SATA SSD or HDD. Connect a SATA power cable from your power supply to the device.
5.5. Power Supply Connections
- Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector from your power supply to the main power socket on the motherboard.
- Connect the 8-pin (or 4+4-pin) EPS 12V power connector to the CPU power socket near the CPU.
5.6. Front Panel Connectors
Connect the front panel cables (Power Switch, Reset Switch, HDD LED, Power LED, USB, Audio) to their respective headers on the motherboard. Refer to the motherboard layout diagram (Image 4.1) for header locations.
