Setup Instructions

1. Inserting Batteries

The dispenser requires 4 AA batteries (included). To install:

  1. Slide the battery door latch on the bottom of the unit to the open position.
  2. Remove the battery door.
  3. Insert 4 fresh AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery door and close the latch securely.

2. Opening and Locking the Top Cover

To open the top cover:

  1. If the top cover is locked, locate the cover lock on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Insert the included key into the lock and turn clockwise to unlock.
  3. Place the pill dispenser on a stable surface. Press the 'PRESS' button on the cover handle to release the cover latch.
  4. Lift the cover handle to open the cover.

3. Cleaning and Preparing the Removable Tray

Before first use, and periodically thereafter, clean the removable medication tray:

  1. The removable tray lifts straight out of the pill dispenser.
  2. Wash the removable tray with warm, soapy water.
  3. Allow the tray to dry completely before re-inserting.

Important: DO NOT submerge the pill dispenser base in water. Do not clean any part of the pill dispenser in a dishwasher.

4. Placing the Dosage Ring

The dispenser comes with 6 interchangeable dosage rings to match your medication schedule (1 to 6 doses per day). Each ring indicates the number of doses per day and the corresponding programmable time period (e.g., 1 dose for 28 days, 3 doses for 9 days).

  1. Insert the removable tray back into the pill dispenser, aligning the arrows.
  2. Select the dosage ring that aligns with your medication schedule.
  3. Place the selected dosage ring in the removable tray with the tab resting in the slot, aligning with the arrows.
  4. Fold the tab downwards to secure the ring.

5. Filling the Dispenser

Carefully place pills into the correct compartments according to your dosage ring and schedule. The dosage in the slot immediately to the right of the tab on the dosage ring will be your starting dose.

Important: Do not place pills in compartments corresponding to the red markings on the dosage ring, as these indicate non-dosing periods.

Once filled, close the cover securely. For extra security, you can lock the cover using the key.

Operating Instructions

Setting Time and Alarms

The EziMedPil dispenser features a large, easy-to-read LCD display and a simple 3-button interface (A, B, C) for programming. You can set the time, alarms, volume, and beep tunes (12HR or 24HR format).

Refer to the detailed instructions in the included user manual for specific steps on programming time and up to 6 daily alarms. Settings are saved even after changing batteries.

Taking Medication and Stopping Alarms

When it is time to take your medication, an alarm will sound, and the light on the dispenser will flash. The alarm will continue for 30 minutes or until deactivated.

  1. Open the drug window on the cover by sliding it.
  2. Turn the pill dispenser upside down to pour the medications into your hand or a suitable container.
  3. This motion will deactivate the alarm and lights.

The pill dispenser is now ready to dispense the next dose on your schedule.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning of the removable tray is recommended to ensure hygiene and proper functioning. As mentioned in the setup section, wash the removable tray with warm, soapy water and allow it to dry completely. Do not submerge the main unit in water or place any part of the dispenser in a dishwasher.

Periodically check the battery level on the LCD display. Replace batteries promptly when the low battery alert appears to ensure continuous operation.
