Setup Guide

1. Powering the Main Unit

The main unit can be powered by 3 x AAA batteries (not included) or via the included USB cable. For continuous and adjustable backlight, USB power is required.

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit.
  2. Insert 3 new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. (Optional) Connect the USB cable to the main unit and a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer USB port).
  4. Close the battery compartment.

2. Powering the Remote Sensors

Each remote sensor requires 2 x AAA batteries (not included).

  1. Before inserting batteries, select a unique channel (1, 2, or 3) for each sensor using the small switch inside the battery compartment. Ensure each sensor is set to a different channel.
  2. Open the battery compartment on the back of each remote sensor.
  3. Insert 2 new AAA batteries into each sensor, observing polarity.
  4. Close the battery compartment.

3. Initial Synchronization

For accurate signal reception, place the main weather station unit and all 3 remote sensors together in the same location for approximately 30 minutes after powering them on. This allows them to establish a stable connection.

If the weather station has not received transmission from an outdoor sensor (indicated by "- -" on the LCD display), press and hold the "CH" button on the main unit for 3 seconds to manually initiate transmission reception.

Important Placement Guidelines

Proper placement of your weather station and sensors is crucial for accurate readings and optimal performance.

  • Remote Sensors: Place outdoor sensors under shelter to avoid direct sunlight and rain, as these can affect accuracy. Ensure vents on the back or bottom of the sensor are not blocked. Keep sensors away from any heat sources, moisture sources, or vents.
  • Main Unit & Sensors: Place both units at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from electronic devices such as TVs, computers, microwaves, and radios to prevent signal interference.
  • Transmission Range: The outdoor sensor provides a transmission range of up to 200ft/60m in an open area. Obstacles like thick walls or metal structures can reduce this range.
Examples of remote sensor placement: under eaves outdoors, on a table indoors, and in a cellar.
