Setting Up Power Supply
Base device
- Insert the DC connector into the connection socket of the base station.
- Insert the mains plug into the power outlet.
- The device is energized directly.
NOTICE: For permanent operation, mains power supply is recommended. Alternatively, a power supply with batteries is also possible, to keep the time setting in case of power failure.
Battery Installation (Base Unit): Remove the battery compartment cover. Insert batteries (3x AAA) into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Replace the battery compartment cover.
Remote sensor:
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert batteries (2x AAA) into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Set the channel selector switch to the desired channel (1, 2, or 3).
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
NOTICE: This weather station can be operated with one or more remote sensors. Each sensor must be operated on a different channel. If only one sensor is connected, it should be operated on channel 1.
Automatic time setting
After power is established, the clock will automatically search for the radio signal (WWVB). If the clock fails to receive the time signal, proceed with manual setting.
Manual time setting
- Press and hold the CH button for approximately 3 seconds to re-initialize the radio signal reception.
- In standard mode, press and hold the SET button for approximately 3 seconds to enter the time setting mode. The set item will flash. The sequence for setting is: Atomic clock time, Year, Month, Day, Week, Language, Weather forecast, Barometric Pressure Unit, Barometric Value, and Exit.
Operation
General Settings
During the setting process, use the UP or DOWN buttons to select values. Pressing once increments/decrements by 1; holding the button allows for rapid adjustment. If no operation occurs for 20 seconds, the setting automatically saves and exits.
Alarm Setting
- Short press the ALARM button to check the alarm time (AL1, AL2).
- Press and hold the ALARM button for 2 seconds to enter ALARM setting mode. The setting sequence is: AL1 hour → AL1 minute → AL2 hour → AL2 minute → Exit.
- While an item is flashing, use the UP or DOWN buttons to select the value.
- In standard mode, press the ALARM button to turn alarms on or off. The order is: AL1 Alarm → AL2 Alarm → AL1 and AL2 Alarms → Exit. The alarm symbol will be displayed when an alarm is active.
Snooze Function
When an alarm is ringing, short press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to pause the alarm and enter snooze mode for 8 minutes. The 'ZZ' symbol and alarm clock symbol will flash.
Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)
In normal mode, press the UP or DOWN button to select the temperature unit between °C and °F.
Channel Selection
In normal mode, press the CH button to select Channel 1, Channel 2, or Channel 3 for the outdoor sensor. Hold the CH button for approximately 3 seconds to reset values and search for an RF signal.
NOTICE: Ensure the channel selected on the display unit matches the channel selected on the outdoor sensor.
Backlight Adjustment
When connected via the AC adapter, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to adjust the backlight brightness through 5 levels. When running on batteries, the backlight may function differently (e.g., High light, off).
NOTICE: For continuous operation, mains power supply is recommended. Batteries are useful for maintaining time settings during power outages.
Weather Forecast
The weather station predicts weather conditions for the next 12 hours based on measured values. It displays 6 dynamic weather forecast patterns:
- Sunny: [Sun icon]
- Slightly cloudy: [Sun partially obscured by cloud icon]
- Cloudy: [Cloud icon]
- Rainy: [Cloud with raindrops icon]
- Heavy rainy: [Cloud with heavy raindrops icon]
- Snowy: [Cloud with snowflakes icon]
Note: If the temperature is below 25°F (-4°C) and the forecast is rainy or heavy rainy, the weather icon will display as snowy.
MAX and MIN Temperature and Humidity Record
In standard mode, press the MAX/MIN button to view the indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity records. Press and hold the MAX/MIN button for approximately 3 seconds to clear the recorded values.
Placement of the Device
Proper placement of both the display unit and the outdoor sensor is critical for accuracy and performance.
DISPLAY UNIT PLACEMENT
Place the display unit in a dry area free of dirt and dust. It can stand upright for tabletop or countertop use.
Important Placement Guidelines
- To ensure accurate temperature measurement, place units out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources or vents.
- The display unit and outdoor sensor must be within 200 feet (60 meters) of each other.
- To maximize wireless range, place units away from large metallic items, thick walls, metal surfaces, or other objects that may limit wireless communication.
- To prevent wireless interference, place both units at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from electronic devices such as TVs, computers, and microwaves.
Diagram Description (Placement): The diagram illustrates recommended placement distances. Electronic devices (TV, computer, microwave) should be at least 3 feet (0.9 meters) away from the weather station components. The maximum wireless range between the display unit and outdoor sensor is 200 feet (60 meters).
OUTDOOR SENSOR PLACEMENT
- The sensor must be placed outside to accurately measure outdoor conditions. It is water-resistant for general outdoor use but should be protected from direct weather elements and direct sunshine. The optimal location is 4 to 8 feet above the ground, in permanent shade, with good air circulation.
- The display unit and outdoor sensor must be within 200 feet (60 meters) of each other.
- To maximize wireless range, place units away from large metallic items, thick walls, metal surfaces, or other objects that may limit wireless communication.
- To prevent wireless interference, place both units at least 3 feet away from electronic devices (e.g., TV, computer, microwave).
