1. Introduction and Overview

The VAULTEK LifePod 2.0 and SlingBag Bundle provides a secure, portable storage solution designed for rugged environments and travel. The LifePod 2.0 is a waterproof, dustproof, and airtight lock box, while the accompanying SlingBag offers convenient transport and additional security features. 2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The LifePod 2.0 requires one 9V alkaline battery (not included) for electronic functions. The battery compartment is located inside the unit. Ensure the battery is inserted with correct polarity. A fresh battery provides approximately one year of normal use.

2.2 Setting Your Master Code

Upon first use, you will need to set a master code for the touch-activated keypad. Refer to the included quick start guide for detailed instructions on programming your personal 4-8 digit code. Remember your code, as it is essential for electronic access.

2.3 Manual Key Entry

Two backup manual keys are provided for emergency access or in case of a dead battery. The keyhole is discreetly located under a rubber cover on the front of the LifePod 2.0. Always keep these keys in a secure location separate from the LifePod.

2.4 Interior Organization

The LifePod 2.0 includes a removable interior tray and foam padding. The tray allows for layering smaller items like spare magazines or EDC gear, while removing it provides space for full-size handguns up to 9.25 inches long. The lid also features organizational pockets and elastic straps.

3. Operating the LifePod 2.0 and SlingBag

3.1 Opening and Closing the LifePod 2.0

To open, enter your master code on the touch-activated keypad. The latches will disengage, allowing you to lift the lid. To close, simply press the lid down firmly until the side compression latches engage and the unit is sealed. The built-in lock can be engaged by sliding the lock mechanism on the front.

3.2 Using the SlingBag

The SlingBag is designed to securely carry the LifePod 2.0. Insert the LifePod into the main compartment. Utilize the internal and external pockets for additional items. For enhanced security, use the included steel cable and combination lock to tether the SlingBag to a stationary object, such as in a vehicle or hotel room.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

Replace the 9V alkaline battery annually or when the low battery indicator illuminates. To replace, open the LifePod, locate the battery compartment, and swap the old battery for a new one. Ensure proper disposal of used batteries.

4.2 Cleaning and Care

Wipe the exterior of the LifePod 2.0 with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals. Periodically inspect the rubber gasket around the perimeter of the lid for any signs of wear or damage to ensure the waterproof and airtight seal remains effective. Clean the SlingBag with a mild detergent and air dry.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Keypad Not Responding

If the keypad does not respond, the battery may be depleted. Use the backup manual keys to open the LifePod. Alternatively, a hidden micro-USB port is available to power the unit temporarily with an external power source (e.g., power bank) to enter your code and access the battery compartment.

5.2 Difficulty Closing/Sealing

Ensure no items are obstructing the lid or the rubber gasket. Check the gasket for any debris or damage. If the gasket is compromised, contact VAULTEK support for assistance.
