  • Press and hold: Activate Siri.

Noise Control Button

  • Press once: Switch between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

Active Noise Cancellation blocks external sounds, allowing you to focus on your audio. Microphones detect outside noise, and AirPods Max counter it with anti-noise, effectively canceling out environmental distractions.

Transparency Mode

Transparency mode allows you to hear your surroundings while listening to audio. This is useful for staying aware of your environment, such as hearing announcements or conversations, without removing your headphones.

Personalized Spatial Audio

Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking delivers an immersive, theater-like experience. It places sound all around you, adapting to your head movements to create a consistent soundstage. This feature is compatible with select content and Apple devices.

Battery Life

AirPods Max provide up to 20 hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled. Placing them in the Smart Case puts them into an ultra-low power state to preserve battery charge.

4. Maintenance

Cleaning Your AirPods Max

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the earcups and headband.
  • For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
  • The ear cushions are magnetically attached and can be removed for cleaning.

Smart Case Usage

Always store your AirPods Max in the Smart Case when not in use. The Smart Case protects the headphones and puts them into an ultra-low power state to conserve battery life.

5. Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions

  • No Sound: Ensure AirPods Max are charged and properly paired. Check volume levels on both the headphones and your connected device.
  • Connectivity Issues: Try turning Bluetooth off and on again on your device. If issues persist, unpair and re-pair your AirPods Max.
  • Noise Cancellation Not Working: Ensure ANC is enabled via the Noise Control button or your device's settings. Check for any obstructions around the microphones.
  • Battery Draining Quickly: Ensure AirPods Max are placed in the Smart Case when not in use. Reduce volume and disable Spatial Audio if not needed to extend battery life.
  • Resetting AirPods Max: If experiencing persistent issues, you may need to reset your AirPods Max. Refer to Apple's official support documentation for detailed instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
