6.3. Blower Function

  • To use the blower function, disconnect the flexible hose from the suction port.
  • Insert the flexible hose firmly into the exhaust port (usually located on the top or side of the motor unit).
  • Turn on the vacuum cleaner. Air will now be expelled through the hose, allowing you to clear debris from hard-to-reach areas or blow leaves. This function can also assist in lighting barbecues.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your MalTec TurboVac.

7.1. Emptying the Tank

  • Before emptying, ensure the vacuum cleaner is unplugged.
  • Unclip the motor unit from the tank and lift it off.
  • Carefully remove the filters.
  • Empty the contents of the 20-liter aluminum-coated tank into a suitable waste container.
  • Wipe the inside of the tank with a damp cloth if necessary.

7.2. Filter Cleaning

The double filtration system, including the HEPA filter and conical fabric filter, requires regular cleaning, especially when vacuuming fine ash. For heavy use, clean filters every two weeks.

  • Perform filter cleaning outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, such as a garage, as fine ash can disperse.
  • With the motor unit removed, gently tap the micro-ash off the conical fabric filter and HEPA filter into a collection bucket.
  • Remove the conical fabric filter and the HEPA filter.
  • Wash the fabric filter bag (if used) with soap in warm (not hot) water.
  • Shake the HEPA filter in the same soapy water to dislodge embedded dust.
  • Rinse both filters thoroughly under running water until clean.
  • Allow both filters to dry completely before reassembling them into the vacuum cleaner. Ensure they are bone dry to prevent mold growth and maintain filtration efficiency.
