7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your BENFEI card reader, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device not recognized / Blue LED not lit | Loose connection, faulty USB port, or incompatible device. | Ensure the card reader is fully plugged into the USB/USB-C port. Try a different USB port on your computer. Test the card reader on another computer if possible. |
| Memory card not detected | Card not inserted correctly, damaged card, or unsupported file format. | Re-insert the memory card, ensuring it is fully seated in the correct slot. Check if the card is damaged. For SDXC cards (64GB or larger), ensure your operating system supports 'exFAT' file format (Windows XP/Vista before SP1, Mac OS X before 10.6.6 do not). |
| Slow data transfer speed | Connected to a USB 2.0 port, old memory card, or system performance issues. | Ensure the card reader is connected to a USB 3.0 or USB-C port for optimal speed. Transfer speeds are also limited by the memory card's speed class. Close other applications that might be consuming system resources. |
| MS Card (Memory Stick) not working | Specific MS card type incompatibility (e.g., MS PRO Duo). | While the reader supports MS cards, some specific older or proprietary MS PRO Duo cards may have compatibility issues. Ensure your MS card is a standard type supported by universal readers. |
