Operating Instructions

The BELLA Digital Food Steamer offers simple operation for healthy cooking.

  1. Prepare Food: Wash and cut food items as desired. Place them into the steaming baskets. For rice or grains, use the provided rice bowl.
  2. Load Baskets: Place the food-filled baskets onto the drip tray, stacking them as needed. Ensure the lid is securely placed on the top basket.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The digital display will illuminate.
  4. Set Cooking Time:
    • Press the 'TIME +' or 'TIME -' buttons to adjust the desired steaming duration. The time will be displayed on the digital screen.
    • Refer to the cooking guide embedded on the unit or in the manual for recommended steaming times for various foods.
  5. Start Steaming: Press the 'POWER/READY' button to begin the steaming process. The steamer will start heating the water, and steam will begin to generate.
  6. Simultaneous Cooking: The triple-tier design allows you to cook different foods at once. Place foods requiring longer cooking times in the bottom basket, closer to the steam source.
  7. Delay Start (Optional): Press the 'DELAY' button and then use 'TIME +' or 'TIME -' to set a delay time before cooking begins. This allows you to prepare food in advance.
  8. Monitoring Water Level: The 1.2L water reservoir view window allows you to monitor the water level. If the water level drops too low, the unit features boil-dry protection and will automatically shut off. You can add water during operation if necessary, using caution due to hot steam.
  9. Completion: Once the set cooking time expires, the steamer will automatically shut off and may emit an audible signal. Carefully remove the lid, using oven mitts, as hot steam will escape.
  10. Serve: Carefully remove the cooked food from the baskets.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your steamer.

  1. Before Cleaning: Always unplug the steamer from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Cleaning Baskets and Tray: The steaming containers, grain tray, and lid are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  3. Cleaning Base Unit: Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up in the water reservoir. To descale:
    • Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
    • Run the steamer for approximately 20-30 minutes.
    • Unplug and allow to cool. Pour out the vinegar solution.
    • Rinse the reservoir thoroughly with clean water several times to remove any vinegar residue.
    • Repeat if necessary. Descale regularly, especially in areas with hard water.
