2. Safety Instructions
Please read and follow all safety instructions carefully before installing, operating, or servicing the UPS. Failure to do so may result in damage to the unit, injury, or electric shock.
- Do not open the UPS casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- Do not connect appliances that may overload the UPS, such as laser printers, vacuum cleaners, or hair dryers.
- Ensure the UPS is connected to a grounded power outlet.
- Do not expose the UPS to rain, water, or excessive humidity.
- Place the UPS in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials.
- In case of fire, use a CO2 or dry chemical extinguisher. Do not use water.
- Disconnect the UPS from the AC power source before cleaning. Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
- The UPS contains internal batteries. Do not dispose of the UPS or its batteries in fire. Batteries may explode.

4. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully unpack the UPS and inspect it for any shipping damage. If any damage is found, do not operate the unit and contact your dealer.
- Placement: Place the UPS in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated indoor environment. Avoid areas with excessive dust, humidity, or extreme temperatures. Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for proper airflow.
- Initial Charging: Before initial use, connect the UPS to a standard wall outlet and allow it to charge for at least 4-6 hours. This ensures the internal batteries are fully charged and ready to provide optimal backup time. The UPS will charge whether it is turned on or off.
- Connecting Equipment:
- Connect your computer, monitor, modem, router, or other critical equipment to the universal backup outlets on the rear of the UPS.
- For surge protection of network lines, connect your modem/fax line to the RJ45 "IN" port and then connect the "OUT" port to your device.
- If using the USB communication feature, connect a USB cable from the UPS USB port to your computer.
- Power On: After charging and connecting equipment, press the power button on the front panel to turn on the UPS. The indicator lights will illuminate, signifying its operational status.
5. Operating
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the power button on the front panel for approximately 3 seconds until you hear a beep and the indicator lights illuminate.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds until you hear a beep and the indicator lights turn off.
5.2 Indicator Lights and Alarms
The front panel features indicator lights (refer to Figure 1) and an audible alarm to communicate the UPS status:
- Green Light (AC Mode): Indicates the UPS is operating on utility power and providing power to connected devices.
- Yellow Light (Battery Mode): Indicates the UPS is operating on battery power (during a power outage or fluctuation). An audible alarm will typically sound intermittently in this mode.
- Red Light (Fault/Overload/Low Battery): Indicates a fault condition, an overload, or a critically low battery. An audible alarm may sound continuously or rapidly. Refer to the Troubleshooting section.
- Audible Alarm: The UPS will emit various beeping sounds to alert you to changes in status, such as switching to battery mode, low battery, or overload.
5.3 Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
The UPS is equipped with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) technology. This feature automatically corrects minor voltage fluctuations (sags and surges) without switching to battery power, thereby extending battery life and providing stable power to your connected devices.
5.4 Cold Start Function
The cold start function allows you to power on the UPS and connected equipment using only battery power, even when there is no utility power available. To activate, ensure the UPS is off, then press and hold the power button for an extended period (typically 5-10 seconds) until the unit powers on and provides output from the battery.
6. Maintenance
- Battery Care: To maximize battery life, ensure the UPS is kept in a cool, dry environment. Avoid frequent deep discharges. If the UPS is to be stored for an extended period, recharge the battery every 3 months to prevent battery degradation.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the UPS from the AC power source and all connected devices before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Ventilation: Regularly check that the ventilation openings are clear of dust and debris to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Battery Replacement: The internal batteries are not user-replaceable. Battery replacement should only be performed by qualified service personnel.
7. Troubleshooting
This section provides information on common issues you may encounter with your UPS. If the problem persists after following these steps, please contact customer support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| UPS does not turn on. | No AC input; Low battery; UPS fault. | Ensure the UPS is plugged into a live AC outlet. Allow the unit to charge for several hours. If the problem persists, contact support. |
| UPS switches to battery mode frequently. | Unstable utility power; Overload. | Check the utility power quality. Reduce the load connected to the UPS. |
| Continuous alarm sound. | Overload; Battery fault; UPS fault. | Disconnect non-essential equipment to reduce load. If the alarm continues, the battery may need replacement or there's an internal fault. Contact support. |
| Short backup time. | Battery not fully charged; Battery nearing end of life; Overload. | Allow the UPS to charge for 24 hours. Reduce the connected load. If the battery is old, it may need replacement by qualified personnel. |
The Advanced Early Warning system will alert you to output overload, high temperature, or low battery conditions, providing time to address the issue or safely shut down your system.
