Operation

Dual Fuel Capability

The generator can operate on either gasoline or propane. Use the fuel selector dial on the control panel to switch between fuel types. When using gasoline, the 1.05-gallon tank provides up to 11.5 hours of run time at 25% load. On a 20-pound propane tank, it can run for up to 34 hours at 25% load.

Starting Procedure

The generator features a reliable recoil start and Cold Start Technology for quick starts in cold weather. Ensure the fuel selector is set to the desired fuel type before attempting to start.

Economy Mode

Activate Economy Mode to reduce the electrical load, which can improve fuel efficiency and reduce noise levels during periods of low power demand.

Clean Power Output

This inverter generator produces Clean Power with less than 3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), making it safe for connecting sensitive electronics such as laptops, smartphones, and other delicate appliances.

Parallel Ready

For increased power output, this inverter is Parallel Ready. An optional, sold-separately clip-on parallel kit allows you to connect it with another Champion 2500-watt inverter to double your power, providing 30 amps of power, including a standard 30A RV outlet and a 120V 30A locking outlet.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your generator. Always refer to the full user manual for detailed maintenance schedules.

Engine Oil

Check the engine oil level before each use. Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, and then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use 10W-30 oil.

Fuel System Storage

To prepare the generator for storage and prevent carburetor issues, it is recommended to empty the carburetor. If running on gasoline, turn the fuel selector to the propane position and allow the engine to run until it shuts off due to fuel starvation. This will clear the carburetor of gasoline. For propane, simply shut off the propane supply.

Air Filter

Inspect and clean the air filter regularly, especially in dusty conditions. A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance.

Spark Plug

Check the spark plug annually or every 100 hours. Clean or replace as necessary to ensure reliable starting and efficient operation.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your generator, consult this basic troubleshooting guide. For more complex problems, refer to the comprehensive troubleshooting guide available on the Champion Power Equipment website or contact customer support.
