1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, display, and care of your Bandai Spirits 1/144 Real Grade (RG) ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam Titanium Finish model kit. This highly detailed kit features a luxurious metallic arrangement, including a white-plated titanium finish for the exterior, gold plating for the characteristic joints, and metallic colors for other components, offering a profound and visually striking final product.
The Real Grade series aims to bring the realism of a mobile suit to a 1/144 scale, combining the best features of other Gunpla lines into a compact size. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning assembly.
2. Safety Information
- Small Parts Warning: This kit contains small parts that may pose a choking hazard. Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age. While the manufacturer recommends 15 months and up, adult supervision is advised during assembly due to small components and intricate steps, typically suitable for older teens and adults.
- Sharp Edges: Some parts may have sharp edges or points. Handle with care during assembly to prevent injury. Use appropriate tools like hobby nippers for safe part removal.
- Material Safety: The model is made of plastic and metal components. Do not ingest any parts.
- Ventilation: If using paints, glues, or markers (not included), ensure adequate ventilation.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before starting assembly. The package should contain:
- ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam model kit runners (various plastic frames with parts)
- Instruction booklet (specific to the model kit, not this general manual)
- Decal sheet (if included with the kit)
- Beam Rifle (x2)
- Beam Saber (x2)
- Rail Cannon (integrated into hips)
- Beam Shield (effect parts)
Note: Tools such as hobby nippers, tweezers, and a hobby knife are recommended for assembly but are not included in the kit.
4. Setup and Assembly
Follow the detailed, step-by-step instructions provided in the dedicated instruction booklet included with your model kit. The following general guidelines will assist you:
- Preparation: Lay out all runners and identify parts according to the instruction booklet. Prepare your workspace with good lighting and necessary tools.
- Part Removal: Carefully cut parts from the runners using hobby nippers. Cut slightly away from the part first, then trim the remaining nub closer to the part for a clean finish. Avoid twisting or pulling parts off runners, as this can damage them.
- Assembly Sequence: Assemble the model following the numerical order in the kit's instruction booklet. Typically, this involves building individual sections (head, torso, arms, legs, backpack, weapons) and then combining them.
- Joints and Articulation: Pay close attention to the Real Grade's advanced inner frame and joint mechanisms. These are designed for high articulation. Ensure parts are fitted securely but do not force them, as this can cause breakage, especially with the gold-plated joint components.
- Decals: Apply any included decals (stickers or water slides) as instructed in the kit's manual to enhance detail.
- Weapon Assembly: Assemble the beam rifles, beam sabers, and beam shield effect parts as per the instructions. The rail cannons are integrated into the hip armor.
Upon completion, your Strike Freedom Gundam will feature a stunning titanium finish and gold-plated joints, ready for display.

5. Displaying Your Model
The Real Grade Strike Freedom Gundam is designed with extensive articulation, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. Its gold-plated joints provide both aesthetic appeal and functional movement.
- Posing: Gently manipulate the joints to achieve desired poses. Avoid excessive force, especially on smaller or thinner parts.
- Weapons: The included beam rifles can be held in the hands, and the beam sabers can be attached to the hands or stored. The rail cannons on the hips can be deployed.
- Action Bases: For aerial or more dynamic poses, consider using a separately sold action base (e.g., Bandai Action Base 2 or 4) which connects to a port on the model's crotch area.
- Wings of the Sky (Optional): This model is compatible with the separately sold expansion effect unit "Wings of the Sky" to further enhance its metallic arrangement and display options.

6. Maintenance
Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your model kit.
- Cleaning: Dust your model regularly with a soft brush or a can of compressed air. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, which can damage the titanium finish and painted surfaces.
- Handling: Handle the model by its main body parts rather than delicate appendages or weapons to prevent accidental breakage.
- Storage: Store the model in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can cause plastic to degrade or colors to fade over time.
- Joint Tightness: If joints become loose over time, a very small amount of clear nail polish or hobby-specific joint tightener can be applied to the ball or peg to increase friction. Allow to dry completely before reassembling.
7. Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
- Parts Don't Fit: Ensure you are using the correct parts for the step. Check for any excess plastic (nubs) that might be preventing a flush fit. Trim carefully. Do not force parts.
- Loose Joints: Refer to the "Joint Tightness" tip in the Maintenance section (Section 6).
- Broken Part: For minor breaks, plastic cement (not included) can be used. For significant breaks or missing parts, contact the retailer for potential replacement options or Bandai Spirits customer support.
- Decals Not Sticking: Ensure the surface is clean and dry. For water slide decals, use decal setting solutions (not included) for better adhesion.
