1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Alcatel XL595 B cordless phone. Please read this manual carefully before using your phone to ensure proper functionality and to take full advantage of its features.

The Alcatel XL595 B is a DECT cordless phone designed for ease of use, featuring large buttons, a large backlit display, and an audio boost function for clearer sound. It also includes a call blocking feature to manage unwanted calls.

3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
  2. Insert the two supplied AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

Note: Use only the supplied rechargeable batteries. Non-rechargeable batteries may damage the phone.

3.2. Connecting the Base Station

  1. Connect the small end of the power adapter to the "POWER" socket on the back of the base station.
  2. Plug the other end of the power adapter into a wall power outlet.
  3. Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the "LINE" socket on the back of the base station.
  4. Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into your telephone wall socket or ADSL box.

3.3. Charging the Handset

Place the handset on the base station. The battery icon on the handset display will indicate charging. For optimal battery performance, charge the handset for at least 15 hours before its first use.

3.4. Handset Registration (if necessary)

Your handset is usually pre-registered to the base station. If the handset displays "Unregistered" or similar, you may need to register it manually:

  1. On the base station, press and hold the PAGE button (or registration button) for approximately 5 seconds until the registration indicator light on the base starts flashing.
  2. On the handset, navigate to the menu, select "Registration" (or similar option), and confirm.
  3. Enter the system PIN (default is usually 0000).
  4. Once registered, the handset will display its number (e.g., "Handset 1").

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Making and Receiving Calls

  • Making a Call: Dial the number and press the Green Call button.
  • Receiving a Call: When the phone rings, press the Green Call button.
  • Ending a Call: Press the Red End Call button or place the handset back on the base.

4.2. Audio Boost Function

To increase the earpiece volume during a call, press the Audio Boost button (often marked with a speaker icon or "+6dB"). This will amplify the sound for clearer conversations.

4.3. Hands-Free Speakerphone

During a call, press the Speakerphone button (usually marked with a speaker icon) to activate hands-free mode. You can adjust the speaker volume using the navigation keys.

4.4. Call Blocking Function

The call blocking feature helps prevent unwanted calls. It offers two modes:

  • Manual Mode: Block numbers during or after a call by pressing the dedicated Call Block button.
  • Automatic Mode: Configure the phone to only allow calls from numbers stored in your phonebook or VIP contacts. All other calls will be blocked. Refer to the menu settings for detailed configuration.

4.5. Phonebook and Direct Memory Keys (M1/M2)

  • Phonebook: Store up to 100 names and numbers. Access the phonebook via the menu to add, edit, or delete contacts.
  • Direct Memory Keys (M1/M2): Assign frequently called numbers to the M1 and M2 buttons for one-touch dialing.
    1. To assign: Press and hold M1 or M2, then enter the number and name, and save.
    2. To dial: Simply press M1 or M2.
  • VIP Function: Assign specific ringtones to VIP contacts in your phonebook to easily identify important callers.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the handset and base station with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, fully discharge the batteries occasionally before recharging. If the phone will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries.
  • Environment: Keep the phone away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and moisture.

6. Troubleshooting
