Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Clean your Apple Watch and band regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth. For swimproof models, rinse with fresh water after exposure to chlorinated or salt water.
  • Water Resistance: Apple Watch Series 6 is swimproof. It can be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. It should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth.
  • Charging: Use only the provided magnetic charging cable. Avoid exposing the charging cable to moisture.
  • Band Care: Different band materials require different care. Refer to Apple's official support documentation for specific band cleaning instructions.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not turning on: Ensure the watch is fully charged. If it still doesn't turn on, try a force restart by holding both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.
  • Pairing issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone and both devices are close to each other. If issues persist, unpair and re-pair the watch.
  • Inaccurate sensor readings: Ensure the watch is worn snugly on your wrist, not too tight or too loose. Clean the back of the watch to ensure sensors are clear.
  • Battery draining quickly: Check for apps running in the background. Reduce screen brightness or disable Always-On display if not needed.
  • Software issues: Ensure your watchOS is up to date. If problems persist, consider resetting your Apple Watch (this will erase all data).
