4.1 Sharpening a Pencil

5. Maintenance
5.1 Emptying Shavings Box
- Open Lid: Twist the top lid counter-clockwise to unlock and lift it off.
- Remove Shavings Box: Carefully pull out the transparent shavings box.
- Empty: Dispose of the pencil shavings into a trash receptacle.
- Reassemble: Place the shavings box back into the sharpener body, align the top lid, and twist clockwise to lock it securely.

5.2 Cleaning the Blade
Use the provided small brush to gently clean any residual graphite or wood particles from the helical blade after emptying the shavings box. This helps maintain optimal sharpening performance.
5.3 Replacing the Blade
The helical blade is designed for long-lasting use (over 8000 sharpenings). If you notice a decrease in sharpening efficiency, the blade can be replaced. Replacement blades can be purchased separately.
- Remove Blade Cover: Open the top lid and turn the blade cover counter-clockwise to remove it.
- Replace Blade: Carefully take out the old blade and replace it with a new one.
- Reassemble: Put the blade cover back on, twisting clockwise to secure it. Ensure the rectangular buckle at the bottom edge aligns with the icon on the unit.
