  • Motor (3.0 HP / 2.2 kW): Powers the compressor pump.
  • Double Cylinder Pump: Efficiently compresses air.
  • Pressure Switch: Automatically starts and stops the motor to maintain tank pressure.
  • Pressure Regulator: Allows adjustment of the output air pressure to suit the tool being used.
  • Pressure Gauges: Display tank pressure and regulated output pressure.
  • Quick Connect Couplings (x2): For fast and easy connection of air tools.
  • Wheels and Handle: Provide mobility for the unit.
  • Drain Valve: Located at the bottom of the tank for draining condensation.
  • Oil Fill Cap/Sight Glass: For checking and adding compressor oil.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your compressor for first use:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the compressor from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your supplier immediately.
  2. Attach Wheels and Handle: Securely attach the wheels and handle using the provided hardware. Refer to the assembly diagram in the separate assembly guide if necessary.
  3. Check Oil Level: The compressor is oil-lubricated. Before first use, check the oil level using the sight glass or dipstick. Ensure the oil level is between the minimum and maximum marks. If low, add suitable compressor oil (refer to specifications for oil type).
  4. Install Air Filter: Attach the air filter to the designated inlet port on the pump. This protects the pump from dust and debris.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect the compressor to a grounded 230 Volt power outlet. Ensure the circuit can handle the compressor's power requirements (2.2 kW). Avoid using extension cords if possible; if one is necessary, ensure it is heavy-duty and rated for the compressor's power.
  6. Initial Break-in (Important for Oil-Lubricated Compressors): For the first 30 minutes of operation, run the compressor with the drain valve fully open. This allows the internal components to seat properly without building up pressure. After 30 minutes, close the drain valve and allow the tank to fill.

5. Operating Instructions

Operating your Scheppach HC120DC compressor is straightforward:

  1. Power On: Ensure the compressor is plugged in. Flip the main power switch to the 'ON' position. The motor will start, and the tank will begin to fill with air.
  2. Monitor Pressure: Observe the tank pressure gauge. The compressor will automatically shut off once the maximum tank pressure (10 bar) is reached. It will restart automatically when the tank pressure drops below a preset minimum.
  3. Adjust Output Pressure: Use the pressure regulator knob to set the desired working pressure for your air tool. The regulated output pressure will be displayed on the second pressure gauge.
  4. Connect Air Tool: Attach your pneumatic tool to one of the quick-connect couplings. Ensure a secure connection.
  5. Begin Work: You can now operate your air tool.
  6. Shut Down: When finished, turn the main power switch to the 'OFF' position. Disconnect the air tool.
  7. Depressurize and Drain: Open the drain valve at the bottom of the tank to release any remaining air pressure and drain accumulated condensation. This is crucial for preventing rust and extending tank life. Close the drain valve after depressurizing and draining.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your compressor:

  • Daily/After Each Use:
    • Drain condensation from the air tank.
    • Check oil level and top up if necessary.
  • Weekly/Every 10 Hours of Operation:
    • Clean the air filter. Replace if heavily soiled or damaged.
    • Inspect all hoses and fittings for leaks or damage.
  • Monthly/Every 50 Hours of Operation:
    • Change the compressor oil. Refer to the specifications for the correct oil type.
    • Check the tightness of all bolts and nuts.
    • Test the safety valve by pulling its ring briefly while the tank is pressurized. Air should escape.
  • Annually: Have the compressor inspected by a qualified service technician.

Always disconnect power and depressurize the tank before performing any maintenance.
