5. Setup & Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your Redragon Power Supply into your computer system.

  1. Prepare Your System:
    • Ensure your computer is completely powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet.
    • Open your computer case to access the PSU mounting area.
    • If replacing an old PSU, disconnect all cables from the old unit and remove it from the case.
  2. Mount the Power Supply:
    • Carefully slide the Redragon PSU into the designated power supply bay in your computer case.
    • Align the screw holes on the PSU with those on the case.
    • Secure the PSU using the provided mounting screws.
  3. Connect Modular Cables:

Connect only the necessary modular cables to the power supply and your components. This PSU is full modular, allowing for cleaner cable management.

    • 24-pin ATX Motherboard Cable: Connect the large 24-pin connector to your motherboard's main power socket.
    • 8-pin EPS/CPU Cable (4+4 pin): Connect to your motherboard's CPU power socket. Some motherboards may require only 4 pins.
    • PCI-E Cables (6+2 pin): Connect to your graphics card(s). Ensure you use separate cables for each GPU power input if your card requires multiple.
    • SATA Power Cables: Connect to SATA devices such as SSDs, HDDs, and optical drives.
    • Molex Cables: Connect to older peripherals or case fans that use Molex connectors.

  1. Power On: Ensure the power switch on the back of the PSU is in the 'ON' (I) position. Then, press the power button on your computer case.
  2. Power Off: To turn off your computer, use the operating system's shutdown function. For a complete power cut, switch the PSU's power switch to the 'OFF' (O) position and unplug the AC cord.
  3. Normal Operation: The PSU fan will operate automatically, adjusting its speed based on the internal temperature to maintain optimal cooling and noise levels.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your power supply:

  • Dust Removal: Periodically clean the power supply's fan grille and interior (if accessible without opening the unit) using compressed air. Dust buildup can impede airflow and lead to overheating. Always disconnect power before cleaning.
  • Cable Check: Ensure all modular cables are securely connected to both the PSU and your components. Loose connections can cause instability.
  • Environmental Conditions: Keep the computer in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
