  5. Select the Duo 44 Live as your audio input and output device in your operating system's sound settings and your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).

5.3 Connecting to a Mobile Device

The Duo 44 Live offers two methods for mobile device connection:

  • Analog (TRRS): Use a TRRS cable (not included) to connect the Analog I/O port on the Duo 44 Live to your mobile device's headphone/microphone jack. This is suitable for most smartphones and tablets.
  • Digital (USB-C): Use a USB-C to USB-C cable (not included) to connect the Digital I/O port on the Duo 44 Live to your mobile device's USB-C port. This provides a digital audio connection for compatible devices.

Ensure your mobile device recognizes the Duo 44 Live as an external audio device. Adjust input levels on the Duo 44 Live as needed.

6. Operation

6.1 Connecting Microphones and Instruments

  1. Connect your microphone to an XLR input or your instrument (guitar, bass, keyboard) to a TRS input on the front panel.
  2. If using a condenser microphone, press the corresponding +48V button to supply phantom power. Ensure dynamic microphones do not have phantom power enabled.
  3. Slowly turn the Gain knob for the connected input clockwise until you achieve a healthy signal level in your recording software, avoiding clipping (distortion).

6.2 Monitoring

Connect headphones to the 1/4" TRS headphone output on the front panel. Use the Monitor knob to blend between the direct input signal (for zero-latency monitoring of your performance) and the playback from your computer/mobile device. The Master Volume knob controls the overall output level to your studio monitors connected to the rear Line Out ports.

The Duo 44 Live allows you to send audio from your computer directly to your connected mobile device for live streaming applications. This enables you to mix your computer's audio (e.g., backing tracks, virtual instruments) with your live microphone/instrument inputs and send the combined signal to your streaming app.

  1. Connect your mobile device using either the Analog (TRRS) or Digital (USB-C) connection.
  2. In the ProDriver4 software (Windows) or your macOS audio settings, configure the routing to send your desired computer audio outputs to the mobile device output channels of the Duo 44 Live.
  3. Open your streaming application on your mobile device. It should detect the Duo 44 Live as an external microphone/audio input.
  4. Adjust the input levels on the Duo 44 Live and within your streaming app to achieve a balanced mix.

6.4 MIDI Connectivity

Connect your MIDI keyboard, controller, or other MIDI devices to the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT ports on the rear panel. The Duo 44 Live will act as a MIDI interface, allowing your computer to send and receive MIDI data from your external hardware. Ensure your DAW is configured to recognize the Duo 44 Live's MIDI ports.

6.5 Using ProDriver4 Software (Windows Only)

ProDriver4 is a powerful tool for Windows users, offering advanced control over your Duo 44 Live:

  • Routing Matrix: Redirect audio from any source on your computer to any output, including the mobile device outputs.
