5. Setup Guide

5.1. Charging the Keyboard

1. Locate the charging port on the keyboard case.
2. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the keyboard case.
3. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
4. The charging indicator light will illuminate. Once fully charged, the light will change or turn off.

Note: A full charge typically takes 2-3 hours.

5.2. Pairing with Your iPad (Bluetooth Connection)

1. Ensure your iPad's Bluetooth is turned ON. Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPad.
2. Turn on the keyboard by sliding the power switch to the ON position. The power indicator light will briefly illuminate.
3. Press the Connect button on the keyboard (usually a small button near the power switch or a function key combination like Fn + C). The Bluetooth indicator light will start blinking, indicating it's in pairing mode.
4. On your iPad, look for "typecase Keyboard" or a similar name in the list of available Bluetooth devices.
5. Tap on the device name to connect. Your iPad may display a pairing code. If so, type this code on the typecase keyboard and press Enter.
6. Once successfully paired, the Bluetooth indicator light on the keyboard will stop blinking and remain solid or turn off, and your iPad will show the keyboard as "Connected".

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Using the Backlight

• To turn on/off the backlight: Press the Light Bulb key (often located near the top right of the keyboard).
• To change backlight color: Press the RGB key (often located next to the Light Bulb key). Each press cycles through the 10 available colors.
• To adjust brightness: Press the Sun icon keys (often F5 and F6 or similar) to increase or decrease brightness.

6.2. Using iOS Shortcut Keys

The top row of keys provides quick access to various iPad functions:

• Home: Return to the home screen.
• Search: Activate iPad search.
• Brightness: Adjust screen brightness.
• Virtual Keyboard: Show/hide the on-screen keyboard.
• Media Controls: Play/pause, previous track, next track.
• Volume: Mute, volume down, volume up.
• Lock Screen: Lock your iPad.

6.3. Switching Between Modes

To switch between the 7 unique modes, simply adjust the iPad's position within the case using the 360-degree rotating hinge. The keyboard will automatically enable or disable based on the orientation (e.g., it will disable in Tablet mode to prevent accidental key presses).

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning the Case and Keyboard

• Turn off the keyboard before cleaning.
• Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaning solution.
• Wipe down the exterior of the case and the keyboard keys.
• Avoid getting moisture into the charging port or between the keys.
• Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.

7.2. Battery Care

• Charge the keyboard regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health.
• Avoid fully draining the battery repeatedly.
• Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1. Keyboard Not Connecting/Typing

• Check Power: Ensure the keyboard is turned ON and has sufficient battery charge.
• Re-pair: Go to your iPad's Bluetooth settings, forget the "typecase Keyboard" device, and then re-pair it following the instructions in Section 5.2.
• Restart Devices: Turn off both the keyboard and your iPad, then restart them and attempt to connect again.
• Interference: Move away from other wireless devices that might cause interference.

8.2. Backlight Not Working

• Check Brightness: Ensure the backlight brightness is not set to the lowest level. Press the brightness up key.
• Battery Level: Low battery can sometimes affect backlight functionality. Charge the keyboard fully.
• Toggle On/Off: Press the Light Bulb key to ensure the backlight is toggled on.

8.3. Charging Issues

• Check Cable: Ensure the USB charging cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the power source.
• Try Different Port/Adapter: Test with a different USB port or power adapter to rule out a faulty power source.
