BIG RED AT84007R Torin Hydraulic Low Profile Service/Floor Jack

Model: AT84007R | Brand: BIG RED

Introduction

The BIG RED AT84007R Torin Hydraulic Low Profile Service/Floor Jack is engineered for general and heavy-duty industrial use, boasting a substantial 4-ton (8,000 lb) lifting capacity. Its low-profile design allows easy access under various vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs. Constructed from durable, high-strength steel with a rust-resistant powder-coated finish, this jack is built for longevity. The dual piston pump significantly speeds up lifting operations, making it 5 times faster than single-pump models. Enhanced maneuverability is provided by two large steel casters and two 360-degree swivel casters. For user safety, it incorporates a built-in safety overload system to prevent exceeding its load capacity and meets ASME safety standards.

Important Safety Information

WARNING: Always read and understand all instructions and warnings before using this product. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, personal injury, or death.

  • Never exceed the rated capacity of 4 tons (8,000 lb).
  • Use only on a hard, level surface.
  • Immediately after lifting, support the vehicle with appropriate jack stands. NEVER work under a vehicle supported only by a floor jack.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in park (or gear) with the parking brake engaged and wheels chocked before lifting.
  • Center the load on the saddle. Off-center loads can cause instability.
  • Do not make any modifications to the jack.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses.

Setup

1. Handle Assembly

  • Insert the lower handle section into the handle socket on the jack.
  • Align the holes and secure with the provided pin or bolt (if applicable).
  • Insert the upper handle section into the lower section, ensuring it clicks into place or is secured.

2. Bleeding the Hydraulic System (Initial Use)

Before first use, or if the jack has been stored for a long period, it is recommended to bleed any air from the hydraulic system to ensure proper operation.

  1. Turn the release valve (end of the handle) counter-clockwise one full turn to open it.
  2. Pump the handle 10-15 full strokes to force any trapped air out of the system.
  3. Turn the release valve clockwise until it is firmly closed.
  4. The jack should now operate smoothly. If not, repeat the bleeding process.

Operating Instructions

1. Lifting a Vehicle

  1. Position the vehicle on a hard, level surface. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels that will remain on the ground.
  2. Locate the vehicle's manufacturer-recommended lifting points. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual.
  3. Position the jack's saddle directly under the lifting point. Ensure the load is centered on the saddle.
  4. Close the release valve by turning the handle clockwise until it is firmly closed.
  5. Pump the handle up and down to raise the vehicle to the desired height.
  6. Immediately after lifting, place appropriately rated jack stands under the vehicle's designated support points.
  7. Slowly open the release valve (turn handle counter-clockwise) to lower the vehicle onto the jack stands. Ensure the vehicle is securely resting on the jack stands before performing any work.

2. Lowering a Vehicle

  1. Ensure the area around the vehicle is clear of obstructions and personnel.
  2. Raise the vehicle slightly off the jack stands by pumping the jack handle.
  3. Remove the jack stands from under the vehicle.
  4. Slowly turn the release valve counter-clockwise to gradually lower the vehicle to the ground. Control the descent speed by adjusting how much you open the valve.
  5. Once the vehicle is fully lowered, remove the floor jack.

Maintenance

  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate moving parts with light machine oil.
  • Hydraulic Fluid: Check the hydraulic fluid level regularly. If low, add high-quality hydraulic jack oil. Do not use brake fluid or other fluids.
  • Cleaning: Keep the jack clean and free of dirt, grease, and debris. Wipe down after each use.
  • Storage: Store the jack in a dry, protected area with the ram fully retracted to prevent rust and extend seal life.
  • Inspection: Before each use, inspect the jack for any signs of damage, leaks, or worn parts. Do not use if damaged.
