Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your AL-KO lawnmower.
4.1 Starting the Engine
- Ensure the spark plug cap is securely connected.
- Press the primer bulb 3-5 times (if equipped) until fuel is visible.
- Move the throttle lever to the 'START' or 'CHOKE' position.
- Hold the engine brake lever against the handlebar.

4.2 Adjusting Cutting Height
The cutting height can be centrally adjusted in 7 stages from 30 mm to 80 mm. Use the lever located near the wheels to select the desired cutting height. Ensure the engine is off before adjusting.
4.3 Mowing Functions (4INONE)
- Mowing with Collection: Attach the grass collector. The MaxAirflow technology ensures optimal filling of the 60-liter collector.
- Mulching: Remove the grass collector and insert the mulching plug into the discharge opening. The lawnmower will finely chop the grass clippings and return them to the lawn as natural fertilizer.
- Side Discharge: Remove the grass collector and mulching plug. Attach the side discharge chute. This function is useful for taller grass where collection or mulching is not desired.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your lawnmower.
5.1 Cleaning
- After each use, clean the underside of the cutting deck to prevent grass buildup, which can affect cutting performance.
- Use a brush or plastic scraper. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on the engine or electrical components.
- Clean the grass collector regularly.
5.2 Engine Maintenance
- Oil Change: Change the engine oil after the first 5 operating hours, then every 25 operating hours or annually.
- Air Filter: Check and clean the air filter regularly. Replace if damaged or excessively dirty.
- Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug annually. Clean or replace as needed.
5.3 Blade Care
Regularly inspect the cutting blade for sharpness and damage. A dull or unbalanced blade can lead to poor cutting results and excessive vibration. Have the blade sharpened or replaced by a qualified service technician.
5.4 Storage
For long-term storage, especially over winter:
- Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer.
- Change the engine oil.
- Clean the entire machine thoroughly.
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, protected from frost.
