Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the welding system and all accessories from the packaging. Verify all components listed in the packing list are present.
  2. Power Connection: The Rogue ES 180i features Automatic Primary Select. Connect the provided power cord to either a 120V or 230V single-phase power outlet. Ensure the power source meets the welder's requirements (e.g., 7kW generator for optimal performance).
  3. Ground Cable Connection: Attach the heavy-duty ground cable and clamp to the appropriate terminal on the welding machine. Securely connect the ground clamp to the workpiece or a suitable grounding point.
  4. Electrode Holder Connection: Connect the electrode holder cable to the corresponding terminal on the welder. Insert the desired stick welding electrode into the holder.
  5. TIG Welding Setup (Optional): For Lift-Arc DC TIG welding, an OPTIONAL TIG torch, gas regulator hose, and accessories are required. Connect these components according to their specific instructions. Note: This unit is a DC TIG welder only and cannot TIG weld aluminum.

Operating Instructions

Basic Stick Welding Operation:

  1. Power On: Turn on the welding machine using the main power switch. The digital display will illuminate.

Special 6010 Mode:

The ESAB Miniarc Rogue ES 180i includes a dedicated mode for E6010 electrodes, providing superior arc characteristics specifically tailored for this type of rod. Select this mode for optimal performance when using 6010 electrodes.
