4. Operating Instructions
Once connected, follow these steps to operate the satellite meter and align your dish:
- Adjust the dB level to 1 or 2 using the ATT button. The LED signal display should show a value between 15 and 30.
- Begin adjusting the position of your satellite dish. As you approach the satellite signal, you will hear an audible alert, and the signal strength value on the display will increase.
- Once you have a preliminary signal, adjust the dB level to 3 or 4. Continue fine-tuning the dish position until the signal strength value reaches its maximum.
- At this point, the "LOCK" light on your satellite receiver should illuminate. If the LOCK light is on, it indicates that you have successfully found the desired satellite. If not, you need to readjust the dish.
The audio tone will become stronger as you achieve better alignment, helping you to precisely position the antenna.
5. Important Notes
- Do not place the satellite detector directly in front of the satellite dish.
- When using a high-gain LNB (gain greater than 60 dB), insert a 5 dB attenuator between the LNB and the satellite detector, or replace the GR-59U jumper cable.
- The maximum cable length between the satellite dish and the satellite detector should not exceed 5 meters.
6. Maintenance
No specific maintenance procedures are required for this device beyond keeping it clean and dry. Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or moisture.
